    Hi Tony, I don’t remove the leaves from my aubergines, just the side shoots and allow them to produce two leaders. I would say that the plants need the leaves for photosynthesis? If the leaves turn yellow then yes remove them but not if they are green. Mine are about 3 foot tall with 8 aubergines on each 😉. All the best, Rich.

    Why are aubergines called egg plants? Do they all start off looking like eggs or only certain varieties? I've never grown them myself…

    Bug clear is a cheaper option, I used it last year to decent effect, but mindst mine is a bed at the bottom of the garden and not an allotment.

    You're as bad as my wife is with secateurs. If I don't hide ours the garden ends up looking like a WW1 battlefield. Your poor aubergines have got to work double hard now you've chopped all their leaves

    Hi Tiny, I used to use those frames with the netting. they drove me mad. I now use builder metal spikes, cans and cable tie the netting in place. They are strong and the canes fit in the hooks a treat. they will last for ever. I will try and send you a picture of mine.

    https://youtu.be/fapzPQPsSao This helped me with my shoulder pain. This morning it was bothering me again. I hung from a chin up bar and stretched for as long as I could stand it. It still pains me, but now I can move my arm all the way around. Hope you find relief!

    Just did this to my eggplant. Had to watch again because I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to take everything off.🤷🏽‍♀️
