Today I dig deep into the world of narrow boat gardening.Spring soon will have sprung and so it is time for me to sow my seeds. I’m planting sun flowers, courgettes , chilies ,rocket and mystery flowers! I would like to add tumbling tomatoes and strawberries but have yet to find the seeds! I also show you some of the herbs and flowers I have bought for the boat garden : lemon-thyme, lavender and chocolate mint…

AND a lovely orange flower I’m planting for MSA Awareness Month. My oldest friend’s mum recently died of MSA and it was truly very sad as she was such a wonderful joyful and active woman. It took along time for her to get a Diagnosis and it would be awful for any more people to go on with symptoms not knowing what they have for such a long time. If you would like to know more about MSA please have a look at : http://www.msatrust.org.uk .

Do you have any young seedlings to tell me about? I would love to know all about them in the comments.

  1. Hi. we have met! On the day you went to get your boat. I had a cute little kitten. I hope you are enjoying your adventure.
    Nick.

  2. It was at Tring. I was on my narrowboat and you walked past with your partner. we chatted for a few minutes, about boats and cats. I think you are going to travel to reading for a wedding. But maybe I am wrong and it wasn't you LOL.

  3. Cool video – I used to grow sweet peas with my gran when I was a kid, and loved that, so I'm looking forward to seeing how your plants turn out 🙂

  4. This is the first Narrow Boat video I have watched! The orange flower in the teapot looks really pretty! I learnt something new – never knew about those biodegradable pots and now I will give them a go! Thanks Jasmin and congrats again to you both on your lovely new boat!!!

  5. Great video thank you.only the music  makes it hard for me to hear you chat.i must say i have a hearing problem to hahaha. so with a litle lipreading i come a long way.Hope to see how your gardening is going for you in your next video.Greatings from Holland,Kitty.

  6. New subscriber here from Hope B.C. Canada. I've been enjoying your videos! Keep up the great work 🙂 We just planted our herb garden today. We put in Sorrel, Basil, Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, and Parsley. Tomorrow we'll be planting onions and potatoes…maybe some carrots too.

  7. Try squeezing a lemon in to your kettle and fill with water boil and discard. if that doesn't work try the same with vinegar and it should stop the metal taste. If not it looks pretty cool with the flower in 🙂

  8. You are so enjoyable to listen to. So much energy and heart in your voice. God knows I wish I had found a woman like you while I lived in England. Now I know why so many people love you….you are just a delight to listen to. So much love and life.

You are proof that God does send Angels to give us hope…….

  9. Just a couple of tips about gardening afloat… Lay a sheet of plastic on the deck to save mess and use the pot to scoop compost out of the bag – so much quicker.

  10. I love to see people planting flowers… It makes me happy. In fact flowers make me happy. My wife Elise and I have been avid flower gardeners since we got married in 1983. I have a Facebook page called "Daily Dose of Pretty"… https://www.facebook.com/Daily-Dose-of-Pretty-536025809852833/ where we share our love of flowers with friends and family. We live in Chicago, IL. USA. A nice little town, maybe you've heard of it. Ha Ha… I've recently subscribed to your channel and several others about narrow boating. I think it would be great to go to the UK and rent a narrow boat for a nice little vacation. Until then I'll have to be a long range Gongoozler. Cheers and safe travels…

  11. Jasmin, you are wonderful and such a delight to watch. Thanks for the great video on planting, you do make me homesick.
You can watch my drone videos of my exploits in Australia if you like on my You Tube link Adams Flyovers, all the best,

  12. Looking forward to seeing the results.
One of the best things I ever did on my boat was create a 'bird tempter'. This involved a square wooden planter with some bracing inside. I then filled it with compost and inserted and large branch from a dead tree. This gave the illusion of a bare planted tree. The bracing was required to stop it falling over. I was able to put bird feeders on the "branches" and within hours it had attracted tits and finches. A few days later I even had a nuthatch visit. To make the whole thing more appealing I scattered wild flower seeds in the compost which added beautiful colour. I had to be careful under low bridges but it was well worth it!

  13. I am planting herbs, like majoram, oregano, rosemary, thyme, mints, and some veggies, kale, collards, romaine lettuce, beans, and peas.

  14. I came from cruising the cut.
    you are so cute.
I became a big fan of you .

  15. He He, Traditional English houses and their front and back gardens in a smaller version, the beutiful flowers on the bow or front garden of course.
