Danny shows how decades old piece of equipment still works. The planter was his dad’s and has been in the family for 40 years. Danny uses the tractor and planter to put fertilizer in 3 rows that he is gonna use the Hoss Tool seeder to plant the red ripper peas. Tools and equipment are the only way to garden when producing acres of food.

Nice planter
I am lucky enough to have a horse drawn seeder and hay mower!!! I have a smaller seeder like your Hoss that I have used for nearly 40 yrs and it sure saves my back!!!! I have one box bed and its such a job to keep weeded, but I also put hoops on it for winter which is nice. I will keep tilling and rowing the rest of the gardens tho!!! Weeds I have to hand pull go to the rabbits and chickens.
Awesome footage of the disk opener and the chain covering the seed behind it!
i could sit and listen to that planter all day long. I wonder if you could find the extra seed plates somewhere.
I Love the continuity and the history in your land Danny, your Daddy & Granddad, Heck ALL your ancestors must be so proud of you.
I can so relate to the "decades old" . But it's true enough, if it was good then, it's better now.
Just shows old doesn't mean obsolete. God bless!
I wonder what it would take to have a new plate made for it.
I LOVE LOVE THESE VIDEOS !! You guys are so good! I was just wondering how to get a close-up and BAM there it is. Thank you so much, Wanda and Danny. I know most people are not going to get excited about these things, but I do. Geeze I wished you lived closer to North Canton 🙁 Oh, the Music was perfect, just perfect. I am so glad that this OLD farmgirl never got the farm out of me. God Bless you two and your family and friends.
I love the music in this one!! Sweet piece of machinery!!
Love the video–here where I live in Highland county Ohio–I see some many old unused farm equipment thats still good and usable just going to waste, it makes me sick too as I was raised to be frugal and take care of what God gives you but seems the new generation wants to discard everything and constantly buy new this or that–what a waste. God bless.
Great video, thanks for sharing. That looks like a big time saver and back saver. 🙂
How do you like the hoss seeder?
Very frosty
Amazing how old style equipment gets it so right..well done guys fans from Australia..:)
If got a 2 row planter. One of the best peace of equipment of bought
These old planters as you call them are still in production today. They are made in Albany, Ga, USA. You can still buy the plates or any part you need. Covington's website shows you where the nearest dealer is for your location. You can buy them already setup on the cultivator in a 1 row or a 2 row setup complete.
Im trying to find the playlist of your equipment but cant find it. Im wanting to see how you measure and setup your rows for single row planting with the tractor??
Awesome to see ol school still growing farms
A Covington planter
People better hold on to their gardening/farming equipment.
Danny , do you have a side dresser would love to see how it is setup on you plow.
