  1. Yup. I have to say, what will be, will be. The weather is changing a lot. I'm in Polk City. I'll just have to hold on. Thanks for the video.

  2. Thank you! This was exactly everything I was wondering/worrying about answered in 15 minutes.👏
    Happy Holidays! 🎅🎄🎁🕎🕯

  3. I was given 30 orchids a few years ago. I hung them under an old oak tree and watered them for 5 minutes every day. And for 15 years I never lost any of them because the tree protected them from the frosts. I don't think I've ever seen it freeze under an oak tree.

  4. Hi from the Ocala/Dunnellon area. Merry Christmas to you and your family and a very Happy and Prosperous New Year.
OK, so I was up until 2am moving and covering plants out in the nursery area and the yard last night. At that time it was 29° by the mercury. Woke up at 7am to take the dog out. It's 25° by the mercury and the birdbath is a skating rink, lol.
Ya cover what you can cover. Move what you can move, and let God handle the rest.
Too bad I haven't finished the Greenhouse yet, so yeah, my livingroom is a Tropical Oasis, lol.
Thanks for all the info and videos, you Rock Sis. Peace 😎👍👉💥🛎

  5. Thank you so much for this morning’s video. Most of my veggies are on the east side because that’s where the sun is the brightest right now. I have collards, rutabagas, turnips, beets, peas, carrots on that side. I will cover anyway. You have put my mind at ease — once more😊

  6. was wondering about your thoughts on why the strawberry and orange farmers spray their crops with water, I found this bit of info on the internet………water slowly loses heat to the surrounding cold air. The water molecules on losing energy begin to move slowly, come closer and pack close enough to change to ice. In this process, the water releases heat to the surroundings, so it is an exothermic process……I was thinking of spraying some of my plants with water, the water from my spigot is around 55 degrees, so it may not help but the water won't kill them…….desperate I am……..I think it gets colder here in Lakeland than it does in St. Pete………love your videos…………

  7. Ive got some broccoli, cauliflower, collards,,,etc… growing in a raised bed… literally raised off the ground. My husband built them so it would be easier for me to work them… I was thinking that we might need to add some kind of skirting to each bed… what do you recommend??❤❤🦩🦩🦩

  8. Yassss, you read my mind. Girrrrl,my plants are my babies. I'm gonna be covering them up like a newborn baby. I have over 23 papayas for the first time ever so I am not taking chances and none are turning yellow yet. Thanks for another great video. Love ya.

  9. I wanted to share I have one of those small charcoal camping stoves and I started a fire in it the last time I got really cold and then put the lid on so the charcoal stayed warm all night. underneath My truly tropical trees and it worked I had a sheet kind of over it not touching it though.

  10. Thank you for saying it’s ok if you don’t have time!!! That’s me! Have a Merry Christmas!

  11. I will bring my orchids into the house. My Hoya hanging baskets (so many) are in a breezeway that goes north to south. Hmmmm

  12. BEST explanation of heat transfer from plants I have heard. I get it now 😄This is just the video I needed to prepare my plants!

  13. I needed this sooooo much thank you!!! This explains why I lost so many plants last year during the frost when I covered them and everything!

  14. I'm in zone 9, I have a Barbados cherry and a pink guava that I hope are okay. I have some little olive trees and some bananas. I'm just going to let the bananas die down and regrow from the roots if it happens. I think the olives will be okay. I am going to throw a trash can, upside down over my papaya, it's still small. 🥶

  15. Good morning, and thanks, Jacqueline. You helped me with so many questions this morning 🌄 Helping out a newbie here in 9b/10 area save my plants 🪴. I covered everything out there with sheets safety pinned around them in pots. So proud of myself finally was able to harvest some big lettuce leaves 🍃 wow! Got some seeds planted in greenhouse right now to keep rotation going. Peace and Blessings 🙏 to you and yours. Love that cup too! 🎄🌴⛄🎁Merry Christmas!

  16. So much great information in only 15 minutes! I just searched how to prepare for a freeze in the garden and I saw you posted another video.. You answered all of my questions and posted it only 4 hrs prior to my searching 🤩

  17. last year during our short cold spell the water in the hoses froze and burst the hoses. My tip is to removed them, drain the water out and store them till after the freeze.
