“Enrian Temple” is the place where Teika compiled Hyakunin Isshu. 京都嵐山の北側に広がる嵯峨野。ここでは古くから文芸の美を追求する者が滞在し、多くの作品が生み出されてきました。
平安時代の歌人藤原定家の山荘の地「厭離菴」と、江戸時代松尾芭蕉の弟子、俳諧師の向井去来の草庵「落柿舎」を訪ねました。
「厭離菴」は定家が百人一首を編纂したの場所です。幾度と荒廃した後、現在は苔と楓の美しい庭に数寄屋建築が佇む趣溢れる場所として管理されています。去来の草庵「落柿舎」は、名の由来となる多くの柿の木と、草庵の風情を留め、ここにしかない素朴で穏やかな美しい場所として管理されています。
