When I first planted this Barbados cherry it wasn’t very full at all. It had a long way to go, but to my surprise it grow a lot in less than a year. The original clip was taken in my spring garden and the second clip was captured in December of 2022.
This is a Barbados cherry tree, it’s not a true cherry tree, and the fruit taste similar to an apple. I’m growing my in a whiskey barrel. They are normally more bushy and only grow to about 9 feet tall. I’m excited to see how much it grows in 2023.
I live in Houston, so it’s too hot to grow a real cherry tree. I also love growing fruit trees and this particular one is doing great in it’s whiskey barrel container.
