Frances Tophill visits RHS Wisley in Surrey to witness the seasonal colour that heathers can provide in the winter months. That gentleman that put together a structure for his trees to arch over, can water the trees down through the plastic pipes that hold the trees. If they’re pounded through the ground always that will I sure the roots and not the grass gets watered. We do it for the first few years of our trees but we sink them down a couple of feet level with ground. Never lost a tree.
