Family of 6 builds a permanent metal truss cover for their renovated vintage Airstream with no construction background. This DIY custom designed @miracletrussbuildings6427 building will provide a final resting place for this piece of our family’s history for years to come on our off-grid desert homestead – and maybe even one day become an AirBnB.
This project is more than just a cover! It also includes a cement pad foundation, equipment rental, rainwater catchment, solar powered filtrated water pump house, gray water septic, and AC power provided from our off-grid solar system. It’s a big step for both our family and our homestead – and we hope you’ll join us.

It would be cooler if you attach greenhouse shade cloth horizontally to each side of the car port using vertical posts about 10 or 15 feet away from the carport but attached to the roof. They make the shade cloth in different percentages so light can get through and the fabric is made to last a long time. It would keep the Airstream much cooler in summer without sacrificing the awesome view.
Hello I'm a new subscriber. I like the idea of building a carport for your trailer home. Even if you chose to sell it later after your house is built, it can have multi-uses. Also I absolutely love the music you've chosen and thanks for listing the artist. Keep up the good work.

It all looks great!! Watching you all work together every day takes me back to when my husband and I were your age and did the exact same thing. We worked hard together every day of the week. And it was the best years of our lives. We are now older with worn out bodies and have had to take jobs working for other people, doing work a little less physically demanding. 😞 my "words of wisdom" enjoy every minute and count your blessings. Take time to really take care of yourselves to fend off all those aches and pains that I never gave a second of thought. They have robbed me of many things I loved to do and can no longer. No matter what…life is what we make it, and it is beautiful! Much love from an admirer.
