  1. I wonder if the deep fryers had skeletal remains like the Dallas Sportatorium. 🤔🤣

  2. Used to love going to high school basketball games there. I really wish someone would rehab The Gardens. It’s a great building.

  3. i’m disappointed Jim didn’t mention going to the Lipizzaner Stallion shows growing up

  4. Being on the national register of historic places doesn't mean it can't be torn down. It means the government can't tear it down. And public money can't be used to tear it down
But if it's sold to a private owner they can choose to tear it down. And they can renovate it anyway they which to

  5. My Dad would go see Memphis wrestling every Tuesday night in the late 70s and early 80s at the Louisville Gardens. He took my mom there for their 1st date. ❤️

  6. StL has a similar problem with the Edward Jones Dome, but not with the same history. The Rock is helping the Dome get a paycheck through the XFL, which kind of ties it back to wrestling. Unfortunately, the Checkerdome is no longer with the living, RIP.

  7. Buddy Rogers, Strangler Lewis & Lou fu**in Thez all in the same car & all going to wrestle on the same card in Evansville!! How awesome would it have been to be there live & see that go down?!?!

  8. I think this removed custodian of the Louisville Gardens, Alvin, should be interviewed, next….

  9. 3:00 They say that Alvin still lurks in the basement of the Louisville Gardens to this day. Sometimes, when the wind is still and the night is cold, you can hear him begging for Stan Lane's sloppy seconds.

  10. I have so many fond memories of Louisville Gardens. Wrestling shows, rock and metal concerts, punking out Travis Meeks for running his mouth, etc. Ahhh, the good old days….❤️

  11. Ah, a cup of scalding green tea and wrestling history with Jim and Brian! Hope the cult members are enjoying the December winter (or summer for the down under)! ☕️

  12. In the early 1970s, when new arena negotiations between the city of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County officials with Nick J. Mileti collapsed (Mileti proposed a public-private partnership based on what became known as Tax Increment Financing) and he took the project to Richfield — the Richfield Coliseum, which opened in 1974…….he offered the 11,000-seat Cleveland Arena to Cleveland State University for $1. CSU had a 3,000-seat campus gym in the Physical Education Center. The toxicity caused by the "Coliseum" outcome reportedly forced CSU to turn down the deal — due to pressure from the elected lords of the realm. The Cleveland Arena was ultimately razed in 1977 when Mileti failed to find a "dollar store" buyer.
