I’ve been really excited about the front yard landscaping since we worked on the paved walkway… but I still need to finish it! Also working on hardscaping the flower beds with the left over pavers too!

  1. The brick cut was SO SATISFYING. love the second layout you did on the right with the hard scape. Matches well without being too matchy

  2. For the pavers… think about how you are going to get a lawnmower around it! Squiggly is fun but a pain to mow!!

  3. that sneaky kitchen sneak peek!!!!!!! i cannot wait for the reno video it is STUNNING

  4. My mom’s birthday is also the 16th! Happy early Birthday to your mom! ❤️❤️❤️

  5. The brick flower bed would be nice just around the porch and maybe a couple of shrubs on the other side with the flower window box. Less is more with landscaping! Also, dig the beds down so the bricks will be level with the pathway.

  6. Did the landscapers give you measurements for your plan? The plants that are included in your plan will need a certain amount of space for when they grow to maturity. 🥰 It's going to look stunning when it's all done!!! 😍🌸🪻🌷🌼

  7. Hydrangeas and Texas sun don’t mix well. I can’t say what your exact sun exposure in the front is because you do have that tree but afternoon sun on hydrangeas is a no go in Texas! May want to try something a bit more sun and heat tolerant.

  8. It's so weird, when a sorted, hardworking person like Macenna follows a rude, rich spoiled YouTuber.

  9. My favourite days are when Maccena uploads around this time (23:3000:00 IST) and I get to watch her video right before I sleep! Have been checking here for the last 10 minutes to see if today will be that day. Either way, waking up to the vlogmas isn't that bad either! ♥️

  10. First off, I love your videos! They are such a peaceful relief to the day. And you are doing a beautiful job on the cottage!

I have a landscape architecture background, so I thought I’d share some tips. I’m hoping they might come in handy.

I’m with you – It’s super hard to find the right curve for garden beds! I used to use a spare garden hose to mark the outline when doing walkthroughs with clients. You might need to use a rock here or there as anchor points, but there’s enough rigidity to the rubber that it helps you find a natural looking curve. It’s also WAY lighter than moving stone.

I like the look of the stacked pavers as edging, but it will likely make mowing the lawn harder. Possibly try keeping the pavers all one level but turning them 90 degrees? (So that the long ends of the pavers touch rather than the short). It may give you a more substantial look to the edging and it will probably be easier to mow around. The pavers also may not move around as much if they accidentally get hit with the lawnmower.

Lastly, you may want to invest in a second edging material, assuming you are going to plant grass in your yard. There are many types of edging that have to be dug into the ground when installed, but this provides a root barrier. Without this you’ll likely be digging grass out of your flower beds all the time. You could still put the pretty paver edging over the top too!

Hopefully, this was useful in some way. I’m sure whatever you end up doing, it will look beautiful in the end! Thanks again for the lovely videos!

  11. For the shape, consider the curve for the way you'll be able to go along it with your lawnmower. Too narrow of a curve, & you'll have to weedeat a larger area of future grass, instead of being able to mow most of it & only edge it up with the weedeater.

  12. If you still have your vision for the tinsel , you can decorate your small trees with them 😊 so you can have what you want but in smaller version 🥰 love your 2 channels btw ❤ lots of love from UAE ❤❤

  13. Totally unrelated, I recommend getting some soup bowl cozies. They are a game changer for a nice hot bowl of soup!

  14. 10:33 I don't think you need to fully re-do this. I think the last squiggle on the right side is what's throwing it off. Make that one large (imperfect) curve and it will be great!

  15. I love the side that juts out more than the bed in front of the porch – it’s too cartoon squiggle in front of the porch while the other side is a smooth undulation – I don’t think it needs to start at the same point on the walkway – I would come further out at the start point on the pathway and curve more gently back towards the house on the side where the porch is.

  16. Sooo look forward to watching the love and care you put in to the cottage Reno. Lol my grandkids are super into watching Vlogmass ha ! They love kinsly .

  17. Great job! our experience with laying garden bed edges taught us that with the curve of you garden bed edges – be mindful of having to mow / edge the lawn side in future. Tight curves are difficult to get into with a mower.

  18. Theirs a show coming to Netflix called Boardroom, where you can watch it in any order and it’ll make sense 😊

  19. The tile in the kitchen!!! Gorgeous color! Can’t wait to see it close up! The end bed tile looks best. My mom has a birdcage just like that with a stain glass bird inside. It is beautiful!

  20. My mom and I have a VERY similar relationship to you and your mom and I must say- we are very lucky gals! 😊

  21. My dreams are always a combo of what I did or saw recently… so you and your mom were totally in one of my dreams the other night. We were thrifting and you and I were working on something for the cottage and just laughing the whole time. It’s was so funny cause I just felt like I was hanging out with friends I didn’t feel like I was aware of you being this online YT I watch. It was nice. You both are a joy to be around in these videos. I love how light hearted and fun you are with each other

  22. Native plants are a good choice in landscaping…….Does the Texas Bluebonnet grow well in that area?

  23. The way Romeo told us he would see us in a week 🥹 you’ve got a good one Macenna

  24. My advice….keep squiggles to a minimum. …it will make mowing easier. Think gentle undulation. 🙂 Also….make flower beds deep enough to contain full grown plant choices.

  25. Love that u know drew and watch tara I always said u 3 should do a video together yall vibes and excitement for decor is just everything

  26. i agree with you that you need to make the living room side more squiggly. you have to keep in mind that the greenery will visually bush out the curves of the bed and make it look less curvy!

  27. Busy girl, yes, there’s nothing likegoodsok in claw foot tub, luv mine. Your home is looking WONDERFUL!

  28. Why not use a hose to play around w the curve of the flower beds until you get it how you like it?

  29. Such a great job you’re doing, respect
When designing my garden, I used my garden hose to create the shapes. So much easier than moving stones all the time.

  30. Funny enough, being on the spectrum is common, and I'm the kind of person who can find and read patterns in EVERYTHING and my memory works best when I develop a pattern or rhythm for myself. However, I'm the most happy and have the most fun when I'm breaking patterns and routines. So you mentioning that your job/career that, makes you happiest, involves you getting dirty actually makes sense to me.

Of course I'm not a professional. It's just an interesting thought, to try and understand how our mind works. ☺️

  31. Loving these videos, your always so cheerful, puts me in a good mood and I want to get stuff done too lol❤

  32. Do you do any training with Kinsley? She's very reactive and it seems like she has some separation anxiety.

  33. omg in the beginning of the video when you were in the car, your hair looked SHORT and it was super cute! You should try shoulder-length if you ever feel like it😁😁
