Here I take you on a tour of our backyard garden on central Vancouver Island at the end of May.
The roses are just starting to bud up and our rock rose is in full bloom. The columbines are looking very pretty with the striking barberry bushes as their back drop.
Our bank is a project in progress will great new things coming soon.

  1. We have zone envy when it comes to growing figs! We have a Chicago Hardy in a container and it's a bit of a hassle to overwinter indoors. Your garden is coming along so nicely and you still have lots of room to try different plants, which we can only wish now with space being a premium (although our beds do seem to increase by a few inches or so every year lol). Also, we now want to find the leopard's bane seeing how nice it looks in your yard. As for the rose being white, that seems normal. We have some white and apricot groundcover Drift roses that will often bloom in pinks, white and apricot all at the same time. Can't wait to see your landscape progress!
