Mr. Samuel Ngigi was introduced to CA by FtMA project through FSC Githae. Being an innovator/early adopter he saw sense in all the practices.
He practiced the following practices;
– Min-till (ripping) to break hardpan and create in-situ water harvesting structures
– Retained previous crop residue to reduce evaporation and increase soil humus
– Crop rotation – to break pest & disease cycle and balance soil nutrient use.
He is able to supply tons of leafy vegetables all year round
