  1. Hello Kayte thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts much love, sending heartfelt positively and peace

  2. One would assume by looking at previous land, trees, rocks with moss, etc., would have clearly shown the previous water paths, no?

Still, you'll have some excellent soil as a result. Don't you worry 😉

Can't wait to see the it filled.

    Well water is the best.
Secret to great things compared to city municipal 🤢😷 water. Perfect PH, very low PPM <0.03 👍👍
    (Rain).

    Stay the course.
    We'll get there.

  3. This too, shall pass. There is always something that breaks, or goes wrong.

I learned to be "Optimistically-Pessimistic"; hoping for the best, expecting the worse. Not much upsets me anymore. I just fix it as the trouble comes up. Unfortunately, trouble comes in threes, and I'm always fixin' something.
Troubles can build character, and they teach us the life lessons that shape us into being better people, if we are willing to learn.

Ain't nothing funner than digging up wet mud…on a cold, damp wintery day.

  4. Bless you dear!! Well, at least all that gunk is going to get out of there, hopefully. What an experience. I have a question. Personally, my answer would be no. But, I'm not living it. My question is..Would knowing this now have changed your mind about buying the property? Honestly, I would love to have a cistern. But, with anything there comes the challenges. And it looks like we are about to get a LOT of rain in the coming weeks. So, hopefully, all that gunk will get washed out of there. God bless you!

  5. OMG – what a job cleaning out a cistern! Awesome info for those who have one on their property and the need for maintenance. I think the garden will recover by spring planting but what is currently there may not. Deer just can't resist your gardens.

  6. Kaye can you get a septic tank company to come flush and clean out your cistern, like they do to septic tanks? They have vacuums and you'll be done.

  7. Thank you for sharing this. I love learning from you experiences. Now I’m wondering what the E. Coli wanted will do to your vegetables.

  8. Omg ! I would have been mortified seeing all that come out ! Wow ! Good thing you thought to do that Kaye Calling the man that built it was a great Idea , Thank God he was still around to show you there was a clean out for that . Will that stop the E-Coli growth now ? I have to take a nap after seeing that . I never would have thought all that was in there. Wow !

  9. I agree with Priscilla Pink on the valve and hose, however I don’t think you want that running out on the ground. Id hire septic service to suck out the bulk of it then power wash it out.

  10. Kaye stay strong and stay your course and think about the stories you’ll have to share someday! I promise this too shall pass…. P.s. I cannot decipher from a simple video but would it be possible to utilize a pressure washer on the floor of the cistern??

  11. Kaye it seems just one expense after another
that black sludge/ gunge,,,, could b toxic,,,,
why did they construct it in the first place
no one only you have gardened this property
surly it wasn't a substitute for city water ???
9,000 gals ,,,, previous owners never cleaned or even maintained it properly,,,,,, Kaye goodluck with this Ed
    how are the kitties????
