  1. Talk about some rich soil!! Wow! I love this, and boy those worms are going to have a true feast for sure. I have some hay that has been down on a portion of my lawn for about 2-3 years and I can't wait to move what is left and plant in that area this spring. All around that area it's green as can be, and everything around it already grows like crazy. I will leave a large portion of the composted parts of it on the growing area, and will be testing it to see how using just fresh hay does for this project. I plan on doing a test area with everything in it starting in the spring too. We have lots of worms in our soil, but it has not been touched in over 65-75 years, so I'm looking forward to seeing what works best. I really like your mounds, and will make several of those too. I considered raised beds but think I want the openness of the raised beds more. Thank you for a great video. Bless, Sheila

  2. I don't think your worms could ask for any better. You are a soil master, for sure.

  3. You said you used some wild plant matter in the compost….did you use horse nettle. I am asking because we had a big patch pop up on,the far side of our property and I wonder if I was care to cut down before it flowered and only used the leaves if it would be a good boost to the compost. I know they have deep deep roots but I can't find any info on it being an accumulater.

  4. Hello I have been using a combination of different weeds to make compost for years. I think you're doing a good job. The results are you are harvesting. when others are just talking about gardening

  5. You inspire me everytime to check my compost..
and be more diverse about what I allow in it.

  6. Your composting knowledge is impressive and your gardening method is amazing.  That is why this video really deserves a thumbs up. TFS.  BTW, I'm not sure if you got the message yet.  I named you as one among my nominee on this Nirvana Horticultural Gardening Challenge where you have to answer 10 gardening questions.  I had a great time doing it.

  7. Hi, Rick. I like using the aged straw too. I only have one bail of it left. I can not get it from the normal source any more. What I had to buy this past summer was full of weed seed and ticks.. So no more from them. I am going to go to mostly cut grass. Unless I find a better place. Thanks for sharing all you do.
