Wood burning stoves feed live trees đ
Carbon dioxide isn't pollution. You should instead be discussing this in terms of increasing topsoil debt to increase carrying capacity, whether for agriculture or wildlife.
Feeding the soil food web with more root exudates is clearly beneficial. But – the underlying assumption that more CO2 in the atmosphere is detrimental is an unproven theory based on inaccurate and incomplete models. The greatest risk regarding climate change is the crazy policies put in place by governments: non-solutions to non-problems with harmful side effects. Is it possible that higher atmospheric CO2 does more good than harm (e.g. more plant growth)? Is it possible that slight warming does more good than harm? Maybe – we don't really know. That atmospheric CO2 is the most important thing in the world is the Emperor's New Clothes of Science.
The difference in weight would also be affected by the water the tree received
Leaves….. those oak trees make new ones every year.
Pollarding and coppicing also boost up the trees active grow and keep a strong old tree engine in play.
Not only that, but remember the methane produced by the cows that the vegan/climate agitators are shouting about? Well that originates in the atmosphere as co2 as well. It's a closed loop. The grass uses co2 to create cellulose in the leaves, the cow or ruminant eats it and bacteria break down the cellulose. The cow absorbs some and the rest of the carbon is given off in methane. The methane breaks down in our oxygen-rich and UV irradiated atmosphere to form back into co2. Round it goes.
Fascinating!
