  1. Terrific Share.
    It does encompass more than one single component, and each landscape has different topography and gradients.
    Planting on the ridges, delivering organic matter to the high points, to catch rain and trap moisture before it can runoff.
    Retaining water is key, as opposed to draining water, and we are seeing the positive results of rehydrating the landscape.
    Peter's point about "weeds" or "non-native" plants, is that something has to pioneer.
    Barren, degraded soils might need a foreign pioneer to establish a foothold.
    The pioneer plants are already changing and improving the landscape as they mature.
    The changing landscape becomes viable to new generations of plants progressively as the habitat becomes more livable.
    In the new improved landscape true native species become self seeding and begin the process of reclaiming the land.
    Biodiversity increases with every season, all built around those initial pioneering "weeds".
