We have been on this property about four months now. While spring seems far away at this point it is actually rapidly approaching and so is the need to nail down our plans for the garden. Location, size, access to water. These are all things we need to take into account as we start thinking about moving forward on this project. Come along as we tour the 5 acre property and discuss some of the possible challenges to setting up our future garden.

Close to sand filter & septic lines PVC can run over land temporary??
First thing figure out where your new house is going to be built and a garden on a down hill isn't bad , i put my garden on a down hill for the good drainage and it's close to a water source and facing towards the south, my garden was 750 sq. ft ( planting in the soil ) at one time but I'm building raised beds for next years crops and also putting a 7 ft fence around it just because of the deer, each raised bed I'll be attaching
on the bottom some small hole fencing just because of the ground hogs
Why does the garden have to be in only one location? What plants need the most care, what plants need the least?
I like the sloped location. It is excellent for drainage. I would think deer fencing will be a must. 🙂 Nice to see you and the cats too of course.
Where are you planning on building your new house situate it close to that … take some time every day and walk around the property get a feel for it
