    I rooted some suckers from my tomatoe plants and was wandering when I could plant them out. I was told to wait until September but they are getting too large, so I think I'll plant them soon. Thanks

    I'm trying to build Mel's mix for my new raised bed garden but can't find quality compost anywhere. The stuff in the stores is mostly wood chips and doesn't look all that great. Any suggestions on where I might find some or other things I can do to supplement it? Also I got the sunflowers to sprout which I'm so excited about, but is there enough time left for the, to grow and bloom? I appreciate all the information I have gained from you channel and appreciate any suggestions. Thank you and God bless.

    I have seen so many gardens from the US using raised beds and this query still lingers — do the plants grow in just the potting mix that is in the raised beds or do they take up nutrients from the soil below too ?
    If it's just from the raised beds then how do the plants grow so well , especially if you are following the planting instructions per square foot ? It is then basically container gardening ?
    When I start a new season with fresh potting mix nutrients are used up in 6 to 8 weeks and then I fertilize every 10 days to keep the plants going , how often do you fertilize your raised beds after you have topped them up with compost ?

    Thank you. I’d dug into the u of a extension resources to find a planting calendar, but it’s so much better to get word from a real person in the area doing it. Just got my pumpkins and melons and squash in last night. Soaked my beans peas and corn for today, and was thinking about throwing in the chard and mustard greens for the heck of it… now maybe I’ll have a months patience ;). Thanks for doing what you do 🌵❤️

    I LOVE that you are in Mesa and your info is low desert specific since I live in Gilbert. Since finding your website and watching your videos, my garden has been the best it's been (plus you inspire me to give it tender loving care). This is the first year I've planted tomato plants. Do they die and you have to keep replanting seeds or transplant? I read that someone rooted a tomato sucker? I will need to look that up on how to do that. My tomatoes just don't want to turn red (both the roma and cherry). Is there something I need to be doing other than fertilizer & a good watering schedule? Plus, the birds seem to peck holes in the cherry tomatoes before they even have a chance to turn red or is something else eating/hurting them? Thanks for all you do!

    Do I need to have the bed empty to add more soil or compost and take the garden grid off? It looked like you put your compost on top of the grid? Do the holes get clogged?

    How do you harvest the sunflower heads? We have 4 heads we cut off and have them hanging to dry out. But how do you know when the seeds are ready?

    Any issues with scorpions in such a nice lush garden. We are near South Mountain and worry if we had a nice vegetable garden it would give them more places to hide and multiply.
