Ohmygosh did you get over 100k subscribers??? YouTube is telling me you’re at 101k now!!!!! Congrats
EDIT: After seeing the other comments, guess it is true! Well deserved for such an incredible channel and creator.
I have a PPM (particles per million) water tester that I recently used to compare my kitchen tap, filtered refrigerator door tap, and Kroger purified drinking water. I just happened to do this a day or two before you posted your video about your rainwater. I was surprised to see that the bottled Kroger water that was in a 5-gallon plastic bottle for 2 years read 0 ppm! The straight tap was 185 ppm and the filtered refrigerator tap was 128 ppm. I live in SE Jefferson County Kentucky (Louisville), which is consistantly rated in the top 3 best tasting tap water in the U.S. annually. My meter's chart shows that 185 and 128 numbers are in the "marginally acceptable" range. The city water was installed out here sometime in the 1990s and it comes from the Ohio River.
Try this.
Take some leaves, that jus fell from a tree, preferably oak or gum tree (hard wood). Place in bucket, little water or on something where the leaves will get wet from rain and won't blow away. Give it a couple days. And a bluish, metal lookin film should show up. Or jus pay attention to the standing water around leaves. You may see what I mean.
Hello from East TN where our water is amazing. Water is a living being, just like Humankind. It is effected by how it's "handled," just like people. Water that goes through a straight pipe, like a deep well, is a happier water. Water that is processed in filtration plants is nearly dead. There are some interesting studies that have been done using the spoken word(s) and water. Under a microscope you can actually see how saying a higher vibrational word like "love" and a lower vibrational word like "hate" effects water. The same goes for the way water is handled. Check it out, it's quite interesting.
❤Kaye❤just sharing you’re “frustration!🙏
Ooops…”your”
The tea water that is darkest is because of the minerals in the water. Distilled water has no minerals. Drinking distilled water is ok for a few days when detoxing your body, but can become harmful if consumed on a long term basis. I know, because I did it to myself, unknowingly. To remineralize the body takes a long time. The safest way is "Spring Water".
Kaye, we have well water that our dogs would never touch since they were puppies. They would drink filtered water, however. Then we got a Culligan set up as well as a secondary reverse osmosis faucet on our kitchen sink. I test it regularly with a TDS meter, and it always registers zero particles, or at 00, which is in the safe/good range. I have a counter top Alexa water filter, the small one, and it usually comes up at zero when tested and never above.06. This may be something you may be interested in. Yes, we pay for this. Fortunately, it fits in our budget at this time. The rep for Culligan said that the fact that our dogs would not drink the water was very telling. Animals know things…. I hope your water issue is resolved soon. Best wishes.
I picked the filtered water from the start and was curious to see if I'd stay with that one at the conclusion. I did. I like to use filtered in my kitchen. Or bottled water if needs be. Distilled is fine for somethings but you'd get really sick if that's all you used. Congratulations on the 101K subs, Kaye! GOOD ON YA!
Crazy that all wouldn't be the same color!! You're right, all kinds of crap in our water, etc. No wonder I eople are sick so much!! I have a water filter but forget to use most of the time. I'll do the experiment with that and my city water. I'll let you know which is darker. I guess I could use bottled water as a tbird!! Thanks, will advise. God bless. Trust mom Is well. Much love🥰❤🙏
i remember back when i was in elementary school ,everyone would go to the lunchroom i think it was once a month to get floride in little cups. this was in louisville ky. back in the 70s.
I have drank distilled per my neuropathic doctor.
HI, GREAT VIDEOS, WAS THE DESTILLED WATER FROM A PLASTIC BOTTLE OR A DESTILLER? THX ANGELA
Buy a ZERO water despenser holds 40 cups of pure water! It takes out 100% of everything Zero runs deals on their filters! I have used mine for 7 years, the water is pure they even give you a water checker.
48 years a plumber and I'm here to tell you, FILTERS remove taste and odor ONLY.
Want pure water? Only one way – distillation.
I manufacture my own distilled water using a tracking solar concentrator I built myself. My homestead is in North Texas – lots sunshine.
Edit: I add essential electrolytes back into my distilled water I drink. Distilled water is hypertonic and will cause your body to actively leach minerals, thus I add them back, distillation having removed EVERYTHING from my source water.
I stopped drinking the water from tap 15 years ago. I owned a wig store and realized these ladies coming in with cancer all lived in the same pocket areas but did not know each other. I looked into water within 100 miles and whats the deal it was not good. It is the water. I only distill now.
Hello! Wanted to know if you know how to distill water 💦 and could you do a video on it.
Kaye,
Having good clean water is critical.
I'n not a chemist nor do I play one on TV but based on 35 years of owning a homestead and dealing with water for the house and the farm I have learned a little.
… long ramble to follow, sorry…
Catching rainwater can be problematic because of birds, and other rooftop critters.
Even the dirt and mold that clings to roofing material can cause problems.
There are systems cal "First Flush" wich prevent leaves and other debris from finding their way into cisterns.
If nothing else, a screen filter then a sand filter can stop allot from getting into the cistern or tank itself.
Look for anyplace mice or rats can get into the cistern at or above the roofline. Bats too.
Filtering water will take our measurable solids and microorganisms down to just over the min size of the filter. ie: .5 micron
I have 3 filters for my well the last one will keep out anything above .5 micron and the activated charcoal and other components of the filter will take out lead and chlorine.
BUT…
It will not remove "Dissolved" minerals.
Boiling water (you only need to bring it to a boil for like 1 min) will help vent off chlorine to some degree and it will kill bacteria which cannot survive those temps.
Now onto Distilled Water.
We should not drink distilled water only all the time.
Why?
Because the distilling process removes all beneficial minerals our body need.
Distilled water can also be bottled in containers which will leach out chemicals from the plastic and plastic bottles are permeable. They will not keep water pure and safe forever.
So, I would suggest that in order to really do a more scientific test you will need to know the pH of the distilled water to know for certain it is neutral as well as your tap water and then post filtration.
Also the pots you boiled the water into need to be exactly the same regardless of if they are Stainless, or aluminum or coated in some way. That can also dramatically change the results.
Personally, I would use a single kettle, and I would use the same thermometer to measure boiling for each one. I doubt greatly you will reach exactly 212F or 100C depending on elevation.
Another test would be allot simpler and that is SunTea.
Get the cheapest black tea you have, just fill clean and sterilized jars with the water, cover and allow to come to room temp overnight. In the moring add the tea bag and then cover loosely and place them side by side in direct sun and see if you get the same results.
You have way too many variables and for now the solution to keep rainwater relatively safe is chlorine in the proper amounts and making sure no critters die in there.
Hope my ramblings help even a little.
Peace.
to much variable on the tea bags?? Foam would be a question for me. What question are you asking?
distilled for me. You have to take minerals though.
Have you used a TDS meter on the water? A second and third identical test would be a valid comparison. I would use a loose tea also as the bag might interfere. I take my bottles and water bricks to a water store forRO water. Recently bought a Zerowater pitcher for rinsing vegetables. I only give my cats RO water and hope their cat food is providing enough minerals for them.
Yes i been finding strange residue left over in cup not sure if from tap water boiled or if they maybe changed the paper of the tea bag
When you said distilled water how d did you distill it?. If they are all boiled are they all not distilled?
