If you garden in the South, you battle Fire Ants.
I’ve had several folks ask how I combat Fire Ants in my Wicking Tubs and EarthBoxes.

    I'm glad I don't have to deal with them little pyromaniac nuisance bugs where I live ..bad enough just dealing with regular ants that don't carry them lighters

    Very good but I wonder if the poison gets into vegetables ? God Bless !!! Maybe put the bait away from the pots and areas close .

    Advion, Top choice or any greasy granular ant bait will work, as long as the workers pick it up and carry it back to the colony. You can scatter it around and the ants will find it. I use a spreader and apply large areas to keep these ants under control. I own and operate a pest control company and go through tons of it every year. YOU"RE RIGHT DON"T USE NEAR YOUR CHICKENS.

    I'm Texan. And I hate fire ants. Anything that bites me kinda deserves to die in my opinion. Not as much as a mosquito, but pretty dang close!

    I grow in wicking tubs on shelves inside a greenhouse with a concrete floor. Don't ask me how, but 🔥 ants somehow find their way in.

    To rid them, I mix 1 ounce orange oil with 1 ounce Dawn liquid dish soap and add warm water to make a 1/2 gallon.

    Fire ants in tubs get sprayed. If it gets on leaves and fruit, it washes off without any dilitereous (bad) effects.

    🔥 ant mounds in the yard get a sprinkle around the perimeter and an ever-tightening spiral to the center, then a total douche at the center using however much is left.

    Kills 'em DEAD on contact & doesn't seem to hurt the plants.

    NOTE: I have had fire ants come to me INSIDE purchased bags of potting soil and mulch.

    When I get to Heaven, I'm askin' who's bad idea fire ants, venomous critters and locust trees were!

    I bought some early summer off Amazon after seeing a earlier yt video of yours. I didn't seem to get them to take it up. I looked on the jug and was a 2021 date code. I know amdro that is older did the same for me too years earlier in trial .I have better luck killing them with a acephate but it doesn't have veggie or fruit crop clearance.

    have you tried Bengal or Extinguish, both are very effective and cost a lot less than Advion.

    when using the jars for bait station why not leave the lid on the jar and drill a 1/2
    hole in the lid to provide more protection from the weather and keep it away from feathered friends.
