I haven’t been up to date this year with garden tours, but I wanted to make sure I got this one in. I always feel like August is the last chance to see so many of my favorite summer blooms. Its also the time I start cleaning out my vegetable garden, so what better time to give an update.

I’ve already made few changes to the garden in the last 2 days, because of course the garden is forever changing. I’ll be sharing more updates today on instagram for Week 3 of Share the Mic: Gardening Edition. If you want to follow along, I have partnered with Emily from @Passthepistil and I’ll be taking over her instagram account today (8/27) At 9AM PST….Which is 12PM here for us in New Jersey.

  1. You’re a hoot! We’re moving to Atlanta soon. Love your gardening ideas. We’ve been in Las Vegas area for 15 years. No garden here!

  2. I'm a newbie gardener in Oklahoma and I can't wait to have what you have. Beautiful set up. 😍

  3. So many variations of flowers! I've been gardening for a few months and getting to know all the different types of flowers and were able to recognize a few. Thanks for sharing your garden!

  4. I'm happy to see your video as a beginner gardener. I like you show your failures and not just success..for novice gardens like myself, it's comforting to see other gardeners also go through many a failures as I am doing and it is ok. Keep up the good work. 👍

  5. Yayyy I love the look of your garden! I'm in zone 7a and completely new to gardening. If I could get my garden to be as half as beautiful yours is, I'd be a happy camper!

  6. I found amending your soil with black low compost with peat moss, bone meal and blood meal does well in general. You can add fertilizer from there if the plant needs it, like corn, add a 10-10-10, or 13-13-13. Heavy feeders will need it. Watermelons are heavy feeders and drinkers! Loving 7b!

  7. If you clip the hydrangeas they will keep growing new flowers and bloom until frost! Also changing the soil acidity can change their color!

  8. Excited to find a gardener in my zone on youtube! Your Zinnias are gorgeous and make me so excited to plant my seedlings in the garden this May. First time growing Zinnias and it's really good to have an idea of how large and bushy they'll get for planning the flower garden out. Thanks for the tour of your lovely garden!

  9. Hi Nikki! Juan here! I just discovered your channel and subscribed! This was fun to watch. Your blue hydrangeas are stunning. Did you do anything to get them to bloom that color or did naturally bloom that color because of the natural acidity of your soil? The zinnias are such an awesome pop of color. I look forward to more videos! Well done, Nikki. Brava!
