Case did that on their radiators someone should have been fired. Good video.
Love how the turkeys are walking around and purring lol
That was a great idea using the welding rod around the exhaust
The fire hose shielding is a good idea. I'll be using that one in the future. Looking forward to this thing roaring to life. Good work! 🤛
Do you slit that hose cover on all your backhoes? – lol
Did you use glue when installing the green carpet?
Let “ Bespoke Post” know you need mechanics tools, they will send you all kinds of gadgets! Remember them?
Thanks for sharing this adventure with the backhoe, it made it worth another 5K washing it after getting it running . I work on this kind of age machines for customers and buy and sell a few as well, it's got harder to find stuff to buy . with parts pricing and some availability issues profits getting harder to find, as well. Guys don't seem to link price increases with paying me more for the finished machines. That starter would of fitted perfect on a 4 cylinder those 3's are a short compact bundle of fun L.O.L. I'd also say replace the 12v positive battery feed you could find there is high resistance in that cable that can also cause slow cranking after fitting a new starter. You can't always see the problem looking at the cable you'd have to resistance/voltage drop test it to find out for sure. The general rule I have is old machine/ old messed up cables/ terminals change them all and know it's getting 100% CCA in our minus 30oc or lower cold winters in Canada. Take care.
I believe the 39 89 on the starter is the 39th week of 1989….similar to how tires are dated
A lot of frustration and a lot of fun. There were several comments that had me laughing and some where I thought, yup that is exactly what I would say. You are so close I am sure you can taste it, oh wait that is burning electrical wire. Not sure why it is turning so slowly unless you ran the battery down again off camera or the starter is just old and weak. This is totally out of my wheel house but could it be that the rod bearings are still too tight? Pretty sure that the 39 is week and 89 is the year.
The footpeds of those pedals look bolted.
Glow plug wire is usually down at the starter wiring and is brown with a red stripe. A short wire seperate from the harness goes from by the starter to the glow plug.
39/89 means it was the 39th week of 1989
Great video Captain Kleeman
Great job working on the backhoe Captain Kleeman
Awesome and just like that it's fixed in the next video how Amazing. God bless you and your family have a great day ya'll.,🇺🇸
Great job welding the muffler pipe Mike
New drinking game idea: do a shot every time Mike takes the fuel tank off.
Hello Mike. Are buying these parts becoming exhausting (:55)? I guess the more fuel, the more awkward. Maybe a train horn for the backhoe.
39-89 might be the 39th day of 1989. The Europeans use that kind of dating. Tractor/backhoe, take your choice, it's yours. Ok Mike, you get one more video on this build before it starts. Have good days!
Great video, keep them coming.
Hang in there. Next starter…. Good luck..
Looking good so far Mike. You’ll get your backhoe going soon!
Mike if you normally heat up those bolts you can get them out without twisting them off
Yak
I think you turn the key to the left for about ten seconds then to the right to start . the one connector on blue wire goes to the intake heater .
Ooooooooohhhhhh… almost had it going. I'm rootin' for you Bud… you were just about there, *&#@$ starter!! Love watching your videos, keep up the great work. You keep me laughing.
I haven’t seen your show sence C & C dropped off the backhoe. Things are looking good. I hope you gave me a good deal. It looks like it needs a quite a bit of work, but what a fun project.
Captain, you really should think about messing with the blower motor electrical, because in the freezing weather your butt will be the same freezing. Maybe you might need it to move and clean some snow away, so you might want some heat in the cab Just saying not putting anything down. , but it is coming along very nicely👍👍👍.
You definitely don't have any quit in you. In turn, we get great video's, you keep making stuff run. It's gonna be good, when you're out digging with it.
It’s coming along nice
If anybody will get the maximum use out of thise particular piece of equipment, it'll be you. Good work getting her up to snuff there Captain. You should get in touch with Hank from Hamiltonville Farm on youtube here as he's always uncovering abandoned excavators and equipment you could use and sells them at very low prices. Recently found a Kobelco 160 with a nice undercarriage that needed a little work [looks like not much work would get it started]. At any rate, those pieces of equipment are the ones you have a lot of experience with and could make the most out of. Give those lads a shout for sure.
If it is zinc plated: weld it with 309 for the best result. Just give it a try.
Fantastic progress I’m sure a new starter will help no end replace many on those engines and surprising how much difference it makes !
39-89 is the 39th week of 1989 🙂
39 is most likely the week of the year like the 4 digits on the side wall of a tire first two numbers are the week and the last 2 are the year
If you had ever had the experience of trying to use poultry shears to cut up a chicken for cooking you had a lot of fun doing so
I myself learned the hard way pruning shears work a whole lot better in the kitchen than they do out in the garden ever since I learned how good pruning shears are I always keep a pair in my kitchen for cutting up poultry the best scissors anybody can get for cutting up poultry if you can snap half inch thick bodark then you can darn sure cut up a chicken bodak is tougher than oak regardless of how you trim electrical wiring you're doing a real good job and I love it keep up the good work I'm proud of you
I apologize for interrupting a second time thought I would let you know the brand new Volvo 220 purchased by let's dig 18 has added a swivel tilt grapple to his arsenal of attachments and I do believe there is a new excavator game in the plans this requires a grapple and not a bucket and thumb what I see as impressive is how distance is created using the excavator grapple in special training
To pick up a basketball without popping it to bounce it off the ground one time with the excavator gravel and catching it with the excavator gravel without popping it and then tossing it 25 to 30 ft beyond the reach of the excavator grapple the trick is to make a hook shot in the basketball basket a deflated ball does not count a ball that was not bounced does not count can you say excavator games excavator grapple basketball boy is this going to be a fun one
At 25.19 there's an optical illusion. The box of tubes seems to be big and on the ground
Consider me chastised for suggesting better visibility. I'm just sayin'.
Mike, you crack me up, I totally enjoy your channel. Man do you have a great view of the river! I'd never get anything done, I'd be fishing all the time.
the gear reduction starter works on a couple of principals; the electric motor spins at much higher RPM where the motor is more efficient, the gear reduction reduces the INITIAL load on the motor. the output RPM of the sprocket once it engages the flywheel is probably the same as the target speed of the direct variant, but the increased torque makes it appear to spin faster.
(DC motors will provide as much torque as you can give them current, more current means more heat ~ which is why they burn out if they're run too long or if the starter is having a hard time cranking the engine, because when a DC motor stalls it'll just keep pulling more current until something upstream melts or the motor does).
Great job captain 👍👌✌️😎🇺🇲
Captain you need to train them Chickens up, as you needed a third hand at times.😊
Make sure you put a grommet on that hole where the negative enters that cab. If you don't, the edge of the hole will saw through the hose cover and the sheathing on the wire. It is negative, but it would make your switch meaningless if it wore through.
39-89? That would be the 39th week of 1989. So … Sept 25th thru Oct 1st 1989 … That moar you know!!!
Oh the cable wrap stuff would be loom wrap.
Those two wires could be temp and oil
I think we're all ready Captain. Can't wait to see it operating and helping you out on your projects. Poor bear dog, No love this video. ☹😂👍 Great video sir. Thank you
Great work. I went through this and more with my first backhoe. I think I may have rebuilt the entire machine, one piece at a time! Lol You are doing a great job. I learned as I went along as you are. I subscribed to give you encouragement. Thanks
I was thinking while watching this "He should get some new rubber window seals." and then it got to a part in the video where we are looking through the rust hole in the cab and I was then thinking "Window seals are not the solution, here." After watching you for years, now, I know that it will come in due time, but you do make "plans" in your head for this. Are you going to fix some of that so critters don't live in the cab? Inquiring minds always need to know. LOL
