    I dropped a weight on my left big toe, at the gym. It’s still half-separated, at the distal half. It’s not infected, but it won’t grow back. I have had it happen to fingernails from trauma, but it was temporary.

    Great video. I've had this happen (people with thyroid conditions can get this.) For me – it happens when I have had my hands in water without wearing gloves. When this happens to me, I keep my nails as short as I can to try and keep them from lifting any more. The Kerasal Nail liquid has helped a lot. And I have been better about wearing rubber gloves to do chores. I didn't have an infection, but it's good to know to be on the lookout. Thanks!

    I get this if I have false nails on , can only wear nails for a week or too then I have them removed because they start to hurt as they lift … so no false nails for me anymore

    3 years ago I had onycholysis on my hands, on all nails! It was terrible both visually and psychologically. And it hurt like hell. I spent 2 years and lots and lots of money to cure it with my doctor. It happened because of overfiling the surface of my nails for gel polish. I didn't clip the lifted parts of my nails, but cut them very short. The doctor said I could use regular nail polish but I didn't use nail polish at all until my nails became normal again.
    But my experience did not teach me anything, and after my nails went back to normal and grew out long and strong, I decided to do gel polish again. Yes, I'm an idiot. Now I have onycholysis again. Not that terrible as the first time (back then, 50% of my nail plate was lifted on each finger) but still not very good looking. Now I am growing out my nails again.

    I am in the process of growing out the same problem. After seeing your video I think it was fungus. I just kept digging out the bad stuff, kept the nail as short as possible as well. Haven’t had to get any bad stuff out/away from the nail in about 2 months. The nail is now 80% normal looking. Still keeping it short.
