(Recorded February 2022)

While this gardener is on the mend, Stewart is sharing a recording I did of a workshop based on my book THE ELEGANT AND EDIBLE GARDEN. Hopefully you will find a few tips in it that you can bring home to your own gardens. #kitchengarden #gardendesign #gardentips

  1. Hope you quickly turn that corner to feeling better!
Years ago I remember reading a piece written by a garden as she recovered from surgery, which kept her immobilized indoors for an extended period of time.
She wrote that she realized prior to her recuperation period, she had often focused on the negative aspects of her garden: the things that needed to be done, and most especially, the weeds constantly threatening to overrun her landscape. Having to stay indoors, she could only view her garden at a bit of a distance, and that's when she was reawakened to the true beauty she had created! From her perspective inside her home, the weeds just blended in with the other greenery, and what she noticed was the lovely foliage and flowers that she could now focus on! When she was finally able to return to her garden, it was with a new sense of appreciation! She was able to focus on what was good and beautiful!
Best wishes, and lots of love!

  2. Linda, I'm praying for you. Please "throw in the towel" and get that much needed rest. I'm
so sorry you have that awful covid. It takes a while to get over it, too, so plenty of rest…..

  3. Take care Linda. I had covid in February/March….hang in there, take care of yourself and looking forward to seeing you up and about and well again! Hugs from Montreal!

  4. Take care of yourself and get plenty of sleep and fluids. See you back in your garden soon.

  5. Hoping for a very speedy recovery for you Linda. Please drink plenty of fluids, rest but also get out of bed often and expand your lungs (deep breaths). ❤️

  6. Thank you for this very informative video. I’m so sorry that you are sick! Please feel better soon. Take care. ❤️

  7. Hope you feel better soon! Thank you for making this effort even though ill. Loved the video and your book.

  8. Linda as I was out in my garden struggling to do chores long past due because of my long recovery from pneumonia ( 4+ months ago)I. I Was thinking of you and your beautiful garden. May I offer a bit of advice? If at all possible hire someone to keep up with your garden. It is so hard to try to catch up. When the smallest task becomes an ordeal. I pray your recovery is quicker but in case it is like many of us who are suffering from mysterious symptoms that keep you down longer than normal please hire help before things get out of hand. Praying you will be well soon.

  9. Hoping your getting much better! Miss seeing you out in the garden. Have a green tea! Take care! 🌺🌿🌸💚

  10. Linda, I love that you’re a learner. The older I get the more grateful I am to love to learn. It never gets old as there’s always a new horizon, in the garden and in the mind. Thanks for your inspiration! JoEddy 58. Zone 7A, at the foot of The Smokies

  11. Thanks Linda for all the wonderful info! Please take care. Rest and fluids. I like hot tea with soda crackers. And hot chicken broth. 😁

  12. Linda, I did notice last week that you were clearing your throat a lot during a video, and I wondered if you were getting sick.

  13. This was fantastic—it brings together the principles that you continue to teach in one, clear and concise format. I have been delinquent on buying the book—no longer!

  14. Thank you. Very informative. Loved the plan of your garden. Do you still have your fish pond? I haven’t noticed in your walkabouts.

  15. Missing you and have been thinking about you all week. Hope you are on the mend soon. I look for any new post you send. You touch many lives, and we all wish you well.

  16. Linda, wishing you a speedy recovery. You are an amazing woman, who not only brings us a wealth of professional knowledge and expertise about gardening as you promote joy and positive energy for everyday living.
Hugs from Ct. Jane and Rich

  17. I have one Dalmatian peach foxglove plant that now the leaves are turning yellow. Is this normal or is something wrong. Do you fertilize your foxglove plants and if so with what.

  18. Love your garden manifesto. Especially the part about your plant sulking. I have a couple of those plants in my garden great video

  19. Get well soon! Love learning from you especially the walk about. You have inspired me so much, I do something everyday now in my garden and flowerbeds. 🙏🏻 prayers to you.

  20. Thank you so much for sharing your Before and After gardens. I Love the transition and you give me so much inspiration to get my garden back in shape, since my health has improved and now allows me the pleasure of working in my garden. I have learned to also appreciate what the birds have planted.
