  1. OMG this resonates soooo much! And the frustration that the sunny spot in summer is the shaded spot in winter for me! If only that were reversed šŸ˜‚

  2. So happy new Florida gardeners are getting your seasons info. I have a question, I saw your vlog about your beautiful Climbing Aster, so I looked it up and every thing is talking about this plant loving water and wanting to be planted near water. I'm curious about your Aster because I don't know how close you are to water. I'm close to the gulf but I'm certainly not right next to it. I love your Aster plant but I don't want to plant it somewhere it won't be happy. Clue me in!!! Thank you so much

  3. When you live here long enough you recognize the changes even though they are subtle. My sinuses definitely know different seasons lol

  4. Fall and winter are the best! I'm growing tomatoes as we speak. Who would have thought?

  5. Knowing my seasons is soooo true. I was planting things at the wrong time all over the place. Also, not realizing a lot of things can’t grow well here in south Florida, just too hot. But also, we have a lottttt of pests. I wish I had started off just getting native flowers šŸ˜…

  6. Question – how do you deal with pests? Or do you just let them do their thing? I'm container gardening in Seminole (hi, neighbor!) and have dealt with mealybugs (my sworn enemy), spider mites, and aphids just in my tiny space.

  7. Lol i watch all those You Tube channels you mentioned. I live in Fort Lauderdale and have been looking for Florida gardening channels. Can you recommend some good south Florida channels to watch? Thank you

  8. Thank you for doing this video…so true about everything you said (especially getting below 65 in South Florida…you had me cracking up). But I do like Laura from Garden Answer and her family dynamic. You are my favorite in Florida. You tell it how it is and I have learned a lot from you. 😊

  9. 'whap','whap', 'whap'….getting violent now, are we?šŸ˜‚
Yeah, my 'hot weather' peppers refuse to go dormant; I pruned the heck out of them to get rid of pests (including root pruning and sanitizing to bring indoors) and they are flowering and popping out peppers. Gotta go with the seasons and the plants.

  10. Fantastic information. ā¤
I learned this lesson earlier this year the hard way. Garden Life lesson. šŸ˜†
Now my favorite planting season that is most successful for me is Sept thru May. I do plant ā€œsomeā€ in summer. I live in N Pinellas county.

  11. Thanks to many of your previous videos we were prepared to think outside the box when we moved to Florida. I would have had no clue what to expect without your help. We did container peppers and cherry tomatoes in the summer and I replanted the peppers out in one of our garden beds in the fall. They are still producing, as are some Roma and Missouri pink love tomatoes we grew from seed and transplanted into the garden in the beginning of September. I agree, start slow and build on what you are comfortable growing. Thx for the video!

  12. Yessss!!! Great tips!! Ty! Please will you do an episode on iguanas?!?! They eat my whole food forest & butterfly flowers!!! Hellllp!!! How to keep the iguanas away?!?!

  13. Important information! I moved here 3.5 years ago from northern Michigan. I’ve been gardening my whole life. Well it’s different here for real but I’m a fast learner and I’m now having an easier time with my plants. I’ve lost a few but not manyšŸ‘ā¤ļø

  14. Love your videos, and Merry Christmas. Please list the easiest native plants to grow in a CoNtAiNeR. Thanks 😊

  15. Omg yes. I moved here from Wash DC over 11 years ago and I still get the planting bug in February and May. I tuned into your channel specifically because I needed guidance for when to start and what to start.
