We built a garden arch for less than 50 euros (Under 50 dollars) using fence posts string and mimosa trees that grow on our homestead.

Full instructions with a drawing included.
You could use willow or another flexible and strong plant to make the arches.

We planted passion fruit and kiwis to grow over the archway to create a shaded walkway.

In 2021, we bought an abandoned farm in Portugal and have been restoring the land to transform it into a great big edible garden.

  1. The arch is beautiful! And it provided you with a Home gym! I bet your arms are getting buff.

  2. Very talented! your archway looks great! so, keep up the good work. I'm sitting here in Canada looking at you are working outside in shorts; well, I am very jealous, here in Canada where I am we are going through a cold spell, and we just had a snowstorm that paralyzed the whole city, so enjoy your beautiful garden and the lovely weather.

  3. Óptimo trabalho! Foi uma boa ideia fazer o arco manuelino, aproveitando os recursos que têm no vosso terreno.

  4. We used one similar to this to drive posts in. Sooooo much easier!!! Well couldnt post a pick but it is a two handled post driver

  5. Hi, just remember that passion fruit likes dry feet and helps to plant them in a flower pot with the bottom of pot removed. Chinese Gooseberries or what we call Kiwi fruit here in NZ, needs a lot of tending, but the height of your arches looks good. Keep it up mate, you’ll get there, it’s just the first 20 years are the hardest! Cheers mate. Harera

  6. What a beautiful arch!!! I am sure your arms will be sore if you do it all day after day!! Bless you both for making your land gorgeous!!!

  7. Your videos just keep getting better. And the two of you are adorable 😊
