  1. Being in zone 9, south of you, I know you're supposed to sow your fall garden in mid August, but it was in the hundreds of degrees, so I waited until almost mid September to sow. Your experiment to grow every month is sure off to a great start. I put cauliflower seed in the ground in April. After summer cooled off, the plants took off up to 3 feet. Ridiculous! and produced huge heads, so that I harvested in November. My bell pepper plants were growing well until I cut them down and took the peppers a couple days ago when possible snow was forecast. It didn't manifest, so the peppers could've been still producing. They had blossoms. I got my first pea pod today, and more coming. Garlic and onion are up; broccoli, cabbage, iceberg, and carrots, too. These are all outdoor garden plants. I feel so blessed.
