Beijinos e abraços,
Carissa, Iwan, Frankie & Albi
Carissa, Iwan & Frankie decided one night over a bottle of wine that moving from North Wales to Portugal would be a good idea. Within a month they were on the road to Portugal to find the perfect piece of land to call their new home. We picked up Albi the cat along the way. Subscribe to follow our journey as we turn an old stone barn into our home, and learn the ropes of looking after a piece of land to make an abundant garden and one day, our very own winery.

Your property is beautiful. I love the cats and their dogs, Diogo π is a glue on you, wrap up the chickens π π Success for you. Hugs from Brazil π§π·
Lovelies You are on the ball with regard to the chooks they will strip the grass I think if divided to 2 or 3 areas you can rest one for a week while try graze another I had a clucky in a A frame and had dropped a bag of bbq chicken bones going to the bin with arms full and woke at 1.30 am to a scuffling noise on the back verandah and opened the back door to a Tasmanian devil who got the biggest shock it or me I donβt know it had been gnawing on the bones frightened the hen off her eggs broke one so all remaining covered in straw and rubbish , I clapped and bellowed it like Iwan watching footy ,dazed by the light and shock took of toward the forest fell in a pond the shock it got they are as black as soot with white tip on the tail and around the mouth stocky as Arnold swartzeneger and as big as a feral cat , the worry is 2 fold they can make a cows corpse disappear in a night 10 screaming and tearing seemingly fighting but itβs all bluff , securing our chickens is paramount ,if I doze off I go and lock the feathered friends up at 11 at night with my torch if not thatβs when theyβre a easy feed for the devils or spotted quolls that are like a ferret / weasel great vid guys ,diago lookin good πβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈπ

Iβm glad you are loving it there. Iβm cwtched up in bed watching after queuing in Cardiff for the train after the Welsh rugby against Australia. Say no more π other than it was tipping down standing outside waiting and I wish I was there in sunnier climes ππ΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώπ΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώ

What's the recipe for the sweet potato curry?
Iwan and Charissa deserve so much more followers. Iβm hoping they get there. π₯° Chrissa is my favourite but Iwan is growing on me π€¨ the best bit are the animals and serenity of their farm.
Hi all from my little farm in Thailand. Iβm impressed by Frankieβs video and editing skills since you started, Iβm sure Carissa must be helping him. Isnβt it amazing how much work there is to do on even a small farm. Congrats to all on learning to live and whatβs important at your young age.
So glad to see you enjoying your land again.
Such a Lovely homestead, so peaceful, calm, and videos in the moment.
Love the beginnings of your vids with the garden, perfect music, the sky, animals and all. You are a balm to many souls.
Another lovely vlog. Sorry about your chicken. Hope your enclosure works well and the eagle stays away. Happy Diogo with his cone of shame gone. I just love your illustrations. Windy wet blustery day here with the threat of snow to come. We normally don't get much snow here. Being originally from Labrador I am use to snow as high as the house or more. It was great as kids but not so much for older people. Take care. Looks nice and cosy with the fire and string of lights.
Hi, Carissa and Iwan. That curry looked lovely. What other veg was in it? Is it easier to grow sweet potatoes Carissa? Is it like growing other spuds? Okay, probably really dumb question, but why the rubber tyres when chopping wood? I love to see Diogo finally get his lamp shade off. Your lNd is looking so vibrant and lush ilove the smell of camomile. Will you collect some of the petals from them and make a tea infusion? X
So many snoopurrvisorsππ always near by. Dioggo was so in tune with Iwan's reactions during the game. That was a fabulous looking sweet potato curry. Yes, a plaid flannel shirt or jacket would be very lumberjacky when chopping wood π.
Ewan – try a splitting maul rather than the axe. The broader head forces the wood apart and I find them far more effective.
Is sausage pregnant?
I love how nice your gardens look. Diego didn't let his head cone slow him down.
Glad Diogo is out of the cone, poor thing! Lovely video, as usual! Stay warm and dry guys!
have you thought about to make chicken tractor? like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4p4CAH7Nw0Y ?
poor Dieogo π having that lamp shade around his neck π’
22:06 – I'm afraid that within 2-3 weeks they will cut all the grass off to to the roots and there will be nothing left for later π₯Ί
Do your chicken give eggs almost every day? If so, what do you do with all of them? I would love to have chickens once we have our place up and running but this is an issue I am wondering about…….what to do when having too many eggs.
the vegetable garden (nor the chicken eggs) don't bring enough food to you to be self-sustainable. how do you gain money to by pasta, rise, oil, etc?
Picksomebay leavesandhavethemi. Avaseor glass, flies do not like bay leaves
β£οΈI love your kitty and doggosπ₯°β£οΈπ₯° Great plans and beautiful location! ππ

Add wood chip to the ground so they don't get muddy feet πππ
What a lovely episode, cattel egrets, eagles – luckily no chickens lost, and just the lovely lush landscape – and I do love that where ever you are, Albi seems to be.
Are you going to pick chamomile for tea? Here in the Netherlands I always have a few plants in my garden only in the summer of course. Then I pick some flowers every day and dry them.ππΌ

Lovely video, I'm very pleased for you enjoying life as it should be not separated for ten hours a day and stressed it's a great life your living.
The axe your using is a cutting axe not so much use these days of chainsaws of course it sort of works there also called felling axes by some , my advice get yourself a splitting axe much less hard work and I mean a lot less work anyway up to you you may like lots of graft .
Good gardens. Advise on having more sweet potatoes is to create molds for the potato leaves , each soil heap or mold will give you like 6 sweet potatoes for a long while ! You can dig up like 20 to 30 molds or small hills of soils and plant stems of sweet potatoes in there
Just a tip, sweet potatoes can grow way deeper than you were digging. I bet you have more if you check a bit deeper. I've found them 2 feet down and more.
You can put the coop on wheels because then you can move it to fertilize other soil with chicken poo.
Another lovely video
Hi! I'm a big fan of you and I've just found a video about solar panels vs. vertical wind turbinas. here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPZei_UONX0 chek it out
