I like how quickly it jumped into scares to be honest. It makes sense given people researching this game already know something is up with it and are cataloguing the oddities. They wouldn't bother slow build up for an audience to scare them, they want to get right to the recordings. Found footage that is more preoccupied with how exactly the audience will take it and the best ways to scare them can get in the way of immersion.
I also think it isn't as open-shut as it seems. How the demon/devil is inside the game at all is up for debate. It could have been Mathias' catholicism leading to his fears of the devil corrupting the AI, but then why wouldn't the AI go after him first? Why would he be left? I think a far more interesting take is that the company was able to develop the technology to try and brute force an AI by scanning and learning from players' brain's and behaviors directly, but not in a way that was safe, and most of the players were children. In their hopes to create something super advanced under the guise of a video game, potentially for further monetization and exploitation in other areas of life, they harmed children in their greed, pride, and vanity. That attracted the attention of a devil/demon that could imbed itself in the AI. It pushed the children further, and in a way the people making the game had what they wanted in the end: something sentient in their game's code. It just wasn't quite what they had in mind and ended up taking the lives of many children in the program. Mathias I think is trapped in some sort of limbo, thinking he is still playing the game but being unable to stop, only protected by his faith with lead angels being in the game.
I think there's many ways this could go. Perhaps instead this was envisioned as a way of testing humanity by the developers, a vision from god to recreate the fall of humanity into sin. Only those with strong faith can survive and be saved. Or any number of other directions.
Hopefully this doesn’t get abandoned like Crow 64 did…
I like this. A game that's possesssed by a demonic spirit but also with clear signs that in spite of the corruption, the good guys are here too, and are fighting back. Always wanted a story revolving around Christianity where the creator doesn't just make God evil for the sake of plot twist.
I'm concerned, buddy. You didn't even mention the Enochian script at the bottom of the March 22nd screen.
the foxxo statue changing shape could be a reference to the golden calf. i know hes a fox… mouse… thing, but still
Can anyone link me to the story video of that kid who plays a game his dead sister left him. It was a platform game with a fox I think. I’ve been looking for that video for awhile now.
If we go by the original text/interpretation of the myth, then the serpent, Lucifer and the satans (yes plural) are all still separate characters.
Okay, I really love this as an ARG, don't get me wrong, I am a ho for spooky … but this "game" more than any other ARG/creepypastas about fake games, is one that I wish was actually real in its uncorrupted form. The actual animations, even before the horror stuff is really great and the character designs are charming. Great sound design too – I could go on.
This analog horror seems to have a lot of very creative and thoughtful inspirations…
The opening scene reminds me of that sonic ova, and Akira and the character design remind me of mother 2, early animal crossing and Mario 64. The different forests reminds me of yume Nikki And rootpain (Doom wad)
This is gonna be REALLY GOOD…
The background ambient forest sounds and the sounds of the dialogue boxes popping in and out were absolutely taken from the first Digimon World game. I’ll never forget those noises. But this fake game looks so good. Love the models and environments. Very impressive.
¨hope you've been adjusting well to the colder weather¨
me in the southern hemisphere at 86 degreest outside : not really
I find it interesting that neither you nor anyone I could find in the comments mentioned the abandoned pair of shoes at the front of the Japanese kid's house. There's two ways to interpret this.
One, the Japanese kid is simply inside the house. In Japan it's tradition to take your shoes off before going into your house to avoid tracking in dirt and such. This is possible, but since it's a horror story, I think it's more likely to be the second option; this kid, Kazuya, has at some point taken his own life, as leaving behind shoes before suicide is something pop culture suggests is what Japanese people do. The question then is this; does this represent Kazuya killing themselves in real life? Or, if this story is building up to these kids being literally trapped in the game, did they kill themselves in the game to try to escape?
Yo, is it me or Alluvium's face look like a PS1 characters face come to life.
The way the player moves and the initial cutscene reminds me a lot of MegaMan Legends, actually, a lot of it reminds me of that game
Jansung from georgia got too much craziness from flordia.
The game's logo is in the Zelda font and I don't mind it tbh
Also, just before the player character gets transported to the corrupted townscape, you can hear a swipe sound effect and see the flaming sword before he rightly writhes in agony.
I feel the 6 wolves are devils because "666" and the lamb is Jesus
Hey NN, the statue isnt a goat, the statue is probably the golden calf, if the game is following christianity and biblic references, the golden calf will be more acurrate, since that was the god that the dudes where prayin before Moses came down from the mountain if i remember correctly
I wanted to add, the bird noises in the city, as well as some of the textbox opening and closing noises are from digimon world 1 for PSX, probably unrelated totally.
Also when i saw that animation i was like, holy shit. I'm so used to these analog horror game footage being like the mario 64 playtest, or the walten files where it looks pretty bad but doesnt takeaway too much, but this one is simply beautiful and looks as good or better than a ps1 rpg.
Turns out Jesus was the source of corruption and it was an illusion 🤣
a note regarding the lamb: when jesus sends his disciples out to minister, he tells them that he is sending them out “as sheep among wolves.” that could be a reference, although it seems like a stretch
bro.. i rlly like this but dont tell me the creator is trying to push some anti-abortion, forced birth sh!t.. just my interpretation. sucks if true.
Winter didn’t come yet here and it’s not normal
It’s been two years since real winter and it’s not normal
Have you ever considered making a video about Gilbert Garfield? BAKED ZITI!
Idk if this was already stated but the Angel guarding The Garden of Eden is Uriel. it's stated he guards its gates with a fiery sword .
bruh when I watched this video the audio was distorted so creepy
