Cottage Living: Container Gardening. This week in the garden we’re building a raised vegetable bed, planting an herb garden container, planting tomatoes in 5 gallon buckets, transplanting over-crowded aloe plants, planting dracaena cuttings, growing lilikoi (passionfruit) and making a bird feeder.

I love how your channel has evolved. It's more a lifestyle channel. I always enjoy your makeup videos. My favorites are a day in the life. Loving these latest videos on all your gardening. I look forward to seeing your progress in the yard. It's going to look beautiful!
Thank you so much for teaching us about plants♥ Love, love, love!
can't wait to see your plants after they grow more!! 😀
Your video was so soothing for the eyes. Am sure you must be having a great time looking at your garden. Just loved the whole series of making a beautiful home. By the way why do you use Aloe Vera for??
Concrete/ cement pots are really easy to make yourself and a lot cheaper than buying big pots at the garden centre.
You have the perfect life! So natural, sweet well decorated and ordered and you are the perfect coulple too ♥
I love love love these videos. They're soothing but inspiring at the same time. It's relaxing to watch but makes me want to get up and create more in my own life. xo from Florida
Please keep doing videos like this. Thank you, very helpful.
great idea for the tomato plants, the 1st time I grew them I was told later that they needed a deep root base and the planter I had was just to shallow. Your seedlings are doing great. The aloe will grow anywhere it will be fine, mine multiple like that all the time. Your garden is going to be really awesome. We aren't allowed to take sand or plants from the wild anymore in Australia. Use to years ago with no probs at all:)♥
It's so funny to watch this in Central New York while it's currently -9 with two solid feet of snow on the ground. Looks like your garden is going to be pretty amazing. Definetly get some wire in with those tomatos!.. will you be making any type of home for the guinea pigs outside? I know the are good about staying close.
I love your gardening series. It makes me want to start a garden and plant flowers here in Georgia.
I hope your cilantro plants do well. Mine did not enjoy being transplanted!
Love your gardening videos as I'm longing to do the same in a few months. Just a few tips about the tomatoes you planted. Too many in your buckets, need to thin out to no more than 2. I believe I counted 6 seedlings? They grow so fast. Also plant a marigold or two around them as that will keep white flies and aphids away. When they get bigger, get tomato cages or a wooden sticks at Lowes/Home Depot and stake them. Tie with old rags. Don't let them dry out as the tomatoes might get blossom end rot if not watered consistently. A few crushed egg shells mixed into the top layer of soil make a good fertilizer as it gives them calcium. You should also buy Osmocote, which is a granular organic fertilizer, lasts 5 months, and sprinkle on top of your soil. I would also have mixed some Osmocote in my potting mix when planting any container plants. It's a high quality fertilizer and doesn't burn the plants. I've grown my tomatoes in containers all the time on my deck. Can't wait until I'm able to go outside and garden. In Pa there's about 6 inches of snow on the ground and more to come.
You and Michael are doing a great job with your house, both inside and out.
you're never going to do inventory update right? it's already february
I love your videos 🙂 I'm trying to grow a patio garden for the first time. It's a challenge here in Phoenix, but so far so good 🙂
Wow, can see at the end of the vid, how much the herb garden is growing!! Question…Where is the swap meet on Maui? Will be coming over in March and I would love to have some of your jewelry…U and Michael make the prettiest things.
Christine, Are there red ants where you live in Hawaii? I live in Florida and they are the reason I do not like to garden!
Can you pick sandy up from the Beach, Here in the UK its illegal to take sand from the beach and you get fined. Also put teabags around the roses and Cats dont like the smell and there good for the soil. Give it a go , great video.
I have a big garden and I have no idea how to take care of it and what to plant in it… Your videos are very helpful! And I love your gardenning gloves!!! 🙂
can you make a video on how to plant some of them with more information ^_^
Thank you for sharing your gardening!!!!! We're getting some more snow today. Ugh!!! Come on spring!! Thanks again! 🙂
Beautiful!!! Put some Tabasco sauce in the soil….the smell will deter the cats. My gardener neighbor does this every spring to keep the cats out of the new mulch!! 🙂
Can you share in the comments what kind of potting soil you used for your vegetable garden and your pots?
Hi Christine… I've been really enjoying ALL your vlogs and yours and Michaels travels… I see you are a very good gardener too. I Have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to. Perhaps you know… I started some sunflowers "Russian Mammoth" in peat pots and they've gotten go tall (6") and gangly and are falling over. They are ready for the ground (I live in Arizona) My question is: Can I plant them deeper so they aren't falling over (I saw you did that to your tomato seedlings) or will the stems rot? In which case should I plant them and use skewers and steak them up? Thanks
Love your gardening videos, inspiring
Why do Americans say erbs instead of sounding the H in Herbs?
I'm obsessed with your videos! Please keep it up I love them! Thanks so much for doing these!!(: your home looks like its coming along so nicely
I wish I could grow all that stuff outside in containers here in Las Vegas, but every time I try, no matter where I position them or how much water I give them, they fry and die 🙁 I have started my ground garden already cause that's the only way it works for me if I pay close attention to the plant's needs. Yours are beautiful!
Love your gardening gloves Christine, where did you pick them up? They look snug like a second skin so working in them looks easy.
I add this video to my playlist
This is making me stir crazy to start this year's garden! Too bad I live in Denver and really can only start my seedlings inside right now… Christine, everything looks so lovely!
cayenne sprinkled on the soil will deter cats
Just saw this on pinterest and reminded me that you have this issue with cats

I am in Scotland UK. i love watching your videos, very informative and adorable. Don't stop doing them. I am very similar to you in the things you do home and garden, certainly not as young anymore, I'm a grandmother now. You are so refreshing to watch. Thank you. 🙂
I really really loved watching this, please do more gardening videos!
Loved this!! I just found your channel and just love your videos! 🙂
I am starting to really love your videos. I thought at first you were all about makeup (sorry for the honesty . . . not hating on you). I love the furniture redos and the gardening. Great vids. Delori
The pot is probably concrete. Cement is the powder mixture that goes into making concrete. The concrete is the finished product 🙂 Beautiful video! It's really inspires me to get gardening!
Can you do this indoors?
Thanks for the tips
rewarding this video now, it seems using that 5 gallon buckets seems like a waste of soil to me.
