I created this talk when I was invited to speak at the Herbal Faire. A while later I got an email from TIEG (The Inland Empire Gardeners, which is one of our largest local gardening clubs) requesting I give the same talk for them at a luncheon at Orlando’s – heck yeah! I revamped the talk, added a few key details and had a lovely lunch with local gardeners! (If you haven’t been to Orlando’s restaurant in Spokane Community College, I highly recommend it. It’s run by the culinary students and the menu changes all the time. While you’re there, the bakery is across the hall. Also, they just remodeled that building so it’s a whole new experience now! The hours are really limited, so check the school’s website before going.)
I’ve learned a lot from reading Dr. Tallamy’s books, as well as watching several videos of his presentations. In this talk I summarize what I’ve learned so far.
