  1. A short videos on books…🤣🤣🤣

One thought: Wildlife was almost hunted to extinction during the Great Depression. I have Mettler's butchering book. It's awesome. People can watch for free the channel JUST A FEW ACRES to see how much work butchering livestock/game is.

Campfire Cooking: you need a book that tells you how to use the type of pans you're using, probably cast iron. My mother just (a month ago) handed me a book THE CAST IRON COOKBOOK. But I think you're worried about technique. I will direct you to the YouTube channel EARLY AMERICA(N). I binge watch it because I've always been a visual learner. Watching Justine cook is how I learn. Anyway, there's a fun series of which one book will prove useful for you–101 THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH A DUTCH OVEN.

Where There Is No Dentist is another great book.

You bought BACKYARD FORAGING (Green cover) which is full of recipes. FRONT YARD FORAGER (red cover) is all color and has more info, including mushrooms and landscaping plants. It's more interesting to me than the Backyard book. But the backyard book has lists like edible leaves, edible trees, etc.

Linda Runyon's Wild Edibles book (Green cover) is as important in my collection as that coffeee-table Texas book and the Indian lore/food book. Runyon's is the homestead bible with nutrition charts, recipes, medicinal uses, and collection/preservation info. I had a friend order it. Her husband found it, read it, then told her it was amazing. LOL They aren't Preppers/homesteaders. But, if you don't know things like Crabgrass seeds are a delicacy that can be used as flour in baking, you need this book.

FORAGER'S HARVEST is quite enlightening for all of North America since the same plant species grow across most of the continent. If you want to learn HOW to collect lots of edibles, this is well worth the read.

Ok, I could yammer about this stuff longer than you talking about books. So, I will spare everyone. 🤪

  2. Wow, I am from Australia. The Ï can't believe it is food storage", book is $144 from Amazon. Would be great book but more than I am prepared to pay.

  3. My favorite over the fire cook book is called Easy Campfire Cooking. Look it up lots of recipes and ways to cook them like Dutch oven and foil etc. So happy that your son did well , we were praying for him. God's blessing to you and yours

  4. I LOVE books!!! TY for sharing 🙂
My hubbie says bringing plants or books to our house is like bringing sand to the beach. LOL….bring 'em on!

  5. Got my first Carla Emery book in 1979! As a young married couple we were pinching pennies like crazy. We lived in the city and always hoped to move to the country. Never did. But, her bread recipe that made 4 loaves at a time was used every week for loaves, rolls, cinnamon bread. Ever sold some. 40+ years later it’s wonderful to see hers is a wisdom and gift that continues to bless the lives of so many.
