  1. Lovely, very nice video💝 I am passionate too about gardening and flowers, and for a long time I was on my own. But nowadays a whole lot of my neighborhood notice my garden and they make very nice comments all the time. Also my daughter recently take up gardening and it looks she is doing great 🌺💝✨

  2. I love what Debra Casne had to say and I'm in agreement! Now for my question… Why do my amaryllis keep getting spider mite? I don't know what to do about this. I too love amaryllis. Thank You for your video. Oh, I wanted to ask, when you brought the bulbs up from the basement I noticed that you hadn't cut off the dead leaves. Is there a reason you leave them on? Thank you Danielle…

  3. Hi Danielle, my grandma was also very passionate about flowers, something we shared since I was a little girl. In many of your videos I feel reminded of her. 💜

  4. Thank you Danielle for this video! I too love amaryllis very much and am going to repot and wake up my bulbs later today. Youtube is such a wonderful way to connect with like minded people and I've so enjoyed watching your videos. When I grew up I was the only one in my family who loved gardening and growing but now I'm lucky to share my passion with my husband. Gardening just seems to become more and more important to me as life goes by with all it's ups and downs and it's so inspiring to see other people enjoying it so deeply as well 💕🌺💮🌸

  5. Danielle, you are such a wonderful person.
So passionate and knowledgeable about gardening.
I always look forward to watching your next adventure in the garden.
Your grandma shared her knowledge….she taught you just enough to wake something inside you.
    Cheers, Jo.

  6. Danielle what a great video – I learned so much! Most of all – I haven't been watering my new amaryllis bulbs enough! Thanks for showing us that – it made a huge difference!

  7. That was such a touching sentiment about your grandmother ❤️ You have a wonderful amaryllis collection…it's so inspiring and of course, now I want more!
P.S. I went to a botanical garden a few years ago and they used the same metal plant markers but they printed the info on P-touch labels and stuck those on and apparently they last for years. I used them in my garden this past year for quite a few perennials, especially hostas, so we'll see how they do 🙂

  8. Danielle, I was so excited to find your video. I have been growing amaryllis for years, and I share your enthusiasm. Since I live in Florida, there is no cool basement to use. I simply put the bulbs in a dark closet and leave them for two months. Usually, most of them do rebloom. I forgot to label them last year when they went dormant, so I'll have a surprise this year, as I won't know what I have until the flowers bloom!

  9. Love watching your channel I can see deep felt gratitude and such passion in growing plants. I too love amaryllis and have learned much from your channel!
    Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

  11. Thank you Danielle, I live in Melbourne Australia and just love amaryllis mine are out in the garden and are starting to flower now. BUT I couldn’t stop looking at that beautiful jumper you had on did you knit it and if so can you tell us which pattern it is?

  12. Great video! So wonderful how you follow your dreams and your grandmas legacy. Quick question. How often do you water the amaryllis after the initial watering?

  13. Great info on Amaryllis! I just dug 3 bulbs out of my garden, shook the soil off their roots and put them in a paper bag in my shed. Guess it will be awhile until I can pot them up. I will have to write dig up Amaryllis on the month of August in my calendar so I can have blooms around Christmas next year. I did find some nice ones at Walmart hidden away outside that I just potted up and are on my little greenhouse. 7bMS

  14. Could I ask where did you purchase the rose pots from? I live amaryllises as well. Last year I had 2 , this year I have 8 new one’s hopefully, I’ll have some Christmas blooms. However I still want 3 or 4 more for this year.

  15. Just planted my first amaryllis it’s called monte blanc it’s a hugecolor is white so I planted up and gave it water ,but I was to,d to put it in a closet till I see growth, then bring out to the light just wondering how often and how much water you give them also do you fertilizer them, great video

  16. I wonder how many of us now have amaryllis bulbs thanks to you? 😄 Just picked out my first one on the weekend and am excitedly potting it today!

What a beautiful gift you bring to us through your videos. How lovely to feel your Grandma's presence through this community you've built! ❤️

  17. Most of us didn't know your Grandmother, but we are so fortunate to know you and the incredible work that you do and the information you share. I always learn something new from you, you are so generous with your time and knowledge. Your Grandmother would certainly be proud of you but I bet she would also acknowledge that you have done so much on your own as well.

  18. i'm relatively new to your channel, but i find them so relaxing and inspirational. i am new to gardening (i have been flatting for years, i had indoor plants, but never the space to garden outdoors). i love how much you love gardening!! i get a lot of inspiration and good feeling from this channel

  19. i have 5 growing, one flower stock peeking out, which made me squeal with excitement!

  20. The feud re. Paperwhite scent was extreme at ours: I loved them, had to have them, while the other wanted them banished to the basement! Happily, a new alternative cultivar became available to the usual Ziva, which is very highly scented. Its name is Inbal, and you have to draw very close to get that scent – and the blooms are almost identical. A happy resolution – must have paperwhites for Christmas!

  21. Thank you for your helpful information Danielle. I love hearing all your knowledge of plants. I wish I could spent a week with you watching all you do. You are adorable.

  22. Re. Amaryllis – no such thing as too many! I was up to 100 bulbs at one point – many varieties that came from Netherlands that I will sadly never see again. What happened? The disaster and misery of mealy bug infestation. By the time I realized what this sticky white substance was, and how quickly it spread, made worse by the proximity of the bulbs when dormant, well, my beloved collection was decimated. Now, I buy a few more each year, and am very careful to inspect all the bulbs, particularly into the neck area, for this dreadful pest. Gervase is one of my favs – each bloom so different – much sought after. Anyway – love your passion for this bulb – and everything else green and growing. Greetings from cold an snowy Quebec Canada!

  23. Such great tips……southern hemisphere bulbs, willow supports, grow kits….you are a wealthy of information and I would never miss your videos. Thank you from eastern Washington.

  24. I do live in a warm country, so we keep our amaryllis outdoors throughout the year, but we've been having the warmest November ever recorded (54-70°F!!) and I don't think I'll get to see any blooms… Of course the weather can still turn, like it did this past winter (one of the worst cold-wise for Athens), but I might cover them with a bag or something. Have a wonderful day!!

  25. The comments on this video were so touching. Gosh they made me tear up. Your method of Amarylis is the same way I do mine. The one thing I wanted to know is if you cut the neck down on your storage ones at all. Last year, I cut the neck down on some of mine and I swore that those were the ones that got flower spikes. I love those rose pots too. I never see those in stores.

  26. I put my Amaryllys to rest and going to pot up, fingers crossed it flowers. The steam cover is beautiful. Happy Thanksgiving 🍽🍁

  27. I have some bulbs from last year that are just putting up the green leaves without buds. I am in 8a Georgia and thinking maybe I didn’t have in dormancy long enough. Would you keep those bulbs and try with them again next year or just dump.

  28. So much to be thankful for! Your channel is my favorite as your passion for flowers is so soothing. Your Grandma is surely smiling down on you! Happy Gardening and Happy Thanksgiving!

  29. Can you talk about the size of the bulb? I found that my bulbs from last Christmas reduced significantly in size how do I keep them big or how do I get them big back ?

  30. I have been a long time gardener and love to decorate for Christmas. My husband loves to have amaryllis blooming in the spring. He plants them outside in summer, digs them up in the fall and pots them up. They usually bloom late winter. We will have to look for Christmas blooming amaryllis. They are beautiful. This senior lady is a new fan.
