We were given a free GPS tracker for our cat, and we give you our honest thoughts and opinions about it in this video. If you are interested in getting a Tractive GPS collar for your pet, check out: https://tractive.com/

We have exciting plans to renovate our barn and turn it into a new living space for us and our guests. The barns are now rat free and all of the waste has been collected and recycled. Ken takes you through the plans of what we want to do with the space and Gina gets her hands all muddy planting some new grass seeds.

As always, we had fun with this episode, and we hope you enjoyed it too 🙂

We are Ken & Gina. 2.5 years ago, we got fed up with paying a mortgage and having to work boring office jobs just to keep our heads above water! We decided to take a big chance, sell everything, and buy a motorhome, which we used to drive our remaining belongings and our pets to Portugal. We bought a beautiful farm in Central Portugal where we live with our 3 dogs, 2 cats and a bunch of other farm animals. Every week we release new episodes of our Portugal Farm Life where you can get an inside look at how we live, on and around the farm, and adapt to the challenges of our new lives.

  1. The shed area with the pioneer speakers already looks like it got a head start on becoming “Ken Disco tech!”😂😂😂

  2. I'm really enjoying your videos. My mother has a Main Coon. She lives in South Africa and moved into a retirement village. Her giant cat became the talk of the whole village and people started popping by just to see this beautifully massive cat. She's the bane to the cricket population (which suits my mother perfectly).

  3. Hi guys! Exciting video, and so exciting to be able to watch it on Saturday, felt very VIP! Now, tell me to f off 😊 but I was wondering, if it's urban, could you maybe consider expanding the walls on both sides to give you a bigger area both in the last anex and in your living quarters as well, so you could have a separate kitchen and living area? Also, that flat idea sounds gorgeous but I wa wondering if it was a good idea to have the bathroom in the same room as the bedroom.. Not only because of steam and smell etc, but because of the bathroom was adjacent, more people could use use? Lastly, as you have the space, have you considered having a utility room just for washing machine and laundry with a sink etc. I know I know, I should buy a house in the country and shut up already 😂. Very exciting plans anyway, and I urge everyone watching this to sign to patreon and support you. It would be such a big help and sometimes people are are lazy just as I was, it takes a few minutes and you can pay a miminim amount, so I think everyone should take 5 minutes and help you out! You deserve it! Right, now I have to walk my dog because I live in a flat 😂

  4. On my cousin's farm in SA, there was "die ou baas, die baas, die klein baas, and die klein baasjie", not sure about spelling of that last.. such an expressive language. Wishing you all good things: with growing grass and accommodation.

  5. I hope your cat's OK, but I was wondering about the swelling on the right side of his face (his right). It looks quite serious.

  6. Oh gosh you two are too cute tamping down the new grass seed!❤❤😂. Looking forward to all your upgrades! May the grass Gods be with you!👍🏻

  7. You can mix paint in plaster that rolls on perfectly. The same plaster you use for joints with tape . There are rollers made to put on plaster mixed with paint . Google it.👍👍👍😘😘😘

  8. Perhaps you might add a grape trellis or retractable awning over the large thermal glass doorway in your new guest flat to provide shade in the summer with a terrace for outdoor dining. 😉

  9. Advertised it it’s good for people to know 👍👍👍😘😘😘tell us how good the company is

  10. Smashing idea for friends and family to be able to stay with you on the farm! Laura 🍻

  11. Hi Ken, I was in the window and door business for 28 years. I’m not sure about Portugal but here in the States there are 2 types of Lo E glass. This glass stops UV rays keeping the house cool in the Summertime and it will keep your furnace heat in as well. The 2 types of Lo E, 232 and 366. 366 is much more efficient. If Portugal has this product be sure and get it all windows and doors. Sliding patio doors. You can stand in front of a door with this glass and you cannot feel heat coming through. We have it in all our windows and patio doors. It’s tremendous product.

  12. Hi love watching your channel. Just a suggestion where you are planning on putting the bedroom and toilet I would swap them round. That way anyone in the lounge area can use the bathroom without walking through the bedroom. Interesting to see what you do.

  13. I let your adverts run, as you get more money that way. Normally I skip them
I will always watch all of you videos. Hopefully people will support u on patron. ( I am OAP😢). Wishing u great sucess

  14. Excellent plans Kenny and Gina – as a fellow SAffer and an expat our weekly dose of you guys warms the heart. My wife and I love your videos.

  15. If my expenses here weren’t so high, I could help with supporting your channel
When I come to Portugal I’ll have a lot more money.

  16. Love the dance party on top of the grass seeds lol
Can't wait to see the renovation plans in action, I don't mind a bit of a build watch 😀

  17. Some really nice ideas Ken. Especially like that view from the studio it's breathtaking. X:)

  18. I would plant some grape vines on a trelis above your big planned sliding doors, that way it shades the glass in summer and when all the vines die in the winter the sun providing passive solar heating and obviously you get some extra grapes as well – so many wins…
