The true story of this video is that Kamikoto reached out to me at about the same time as Tim Greenwood (Turgworks) released his scrapwood buildoff, so I just put 2 and 2 together and made a scrap wood project that also would fit a video with the awesome knives. The competition is still open to anyone in the world, so go build something and publish it on Youtube or Instagram with the hashtag #scrapwoodbuildoff. And no, the prizes only go to residents in the U.K. but you can participate and have fun and build your woodworking network from anywhere.

This competition got me started making the pallet blocks coffee table, and man, if I didn’t make that, I would not have been where I am today. Which is a beginner woodworker making questionable projects. Thank you all for your support.

I have been able to get a good amount of tools in my shop over the last year. I’m not a full time woodworker, and because I also have another job that supports my cost of living, I’m able to put everything I make from the woodworking back as investments in tools in my shop. It has been all hard work, but you’re welcome to make a comment about how fortunate I am to have a shop full of woodworking tools that magically have appeared overnight. But just know that I take care of a dayjob, work in the workshop in the evenings and edit videos for Youtube many nights.

I do owe thanks to a lot of creators, I will try my best to feature you somehow in future videos. It could be a while before the right opportunity shows up for me.

Thank you all creators and people watching and commenting on my videos. I read all comments and will answer all. I learn a lot from the comments and will do my best to mention who gave me the good advice in future videos. Thank you.

  1. I’ve seen a few people make cutting boards which have epoxy. I’d think epoxy would be really bad for the knives. It’s hard as heck. So I guess you’ll be sharpening those Japanese knives more often

  2. noooooo another kamikoto crappy knifes as sponsor 🙁 youtube creators should do some research before cashing the $$ from the stuff they sponsor .

  3. Great board Jesper ! You are a winner-
Regardless of the competition restrictions !!!
I want to point out how much I (and there has to be others) appreciate the way you leave your “accidental lessons” in your videos. You are schooling us in more than one way.
    Thanks Jesper –
    Keep on Keepin’ on !!

  4. Beautiful cutting board (even with the boo-boos!)! Great humor too! You should have won the competition 💪…. if only you were in the UK… (sigh).

  5. Nice commentary, chopping board not so much. Laughed at the word "champferisation". Enjoyed the prrsentation.
    Birdy

  6. Another excellent video! That said, you may want to look into the veracity of the claims and quality of the product made by the sponsor of the video.

  7. Sooo good. Love your work and your presentation! Beautiful home by the way. If you ask me what kind of videos i wanna make, i would answer "videos like jesper". So i will hope someday i got the style, the aknowledge and the time to make content like you. Until then, i enjoy your content. Greetings from germany. Gerrit

  8. Wow, that is absolutely the best-looking cutting board I've seen! 👍
Thanks, Jasper, your work is such an inspiration and a lot more (som den stil og de farver der passer bedst til mine præferancer ift det vi ofte ser fra andre steder i verden… :o)

  9. Jesper your videos are hilarious, inspirational and well put together. Besides learning some interesting methods on wood working, others could learn a great deal on video directing/editing from you. Keep up the great work !

  10. The most enjoyable 14 minutes of today, thanks Jesper. I had great time while drinking my coffee. once again you have combined a great craftsmanship with a great production. Of course you are the scrap wood champion in our hearts. Be safe ✌🏻⚙️⚒️

  11. When the router slipped I almost cried for you!!! Great job mate, always love your work, those knives look great too! Awesome mate

  12. Ideen er god nok og resultatet er hæderligt, men epoxy har sgu ikke meget med træarbejde at gøre.

  13. To mask the juice groove router mistake, maybe you could widen the juice groove? BTW, great video.

  14. food grade finish..
    but food grade epoxy ???
am a noob in this so i wonder if there is such a thing.
    if so LINK ME!!!
    Still nice work.

  15. If it were lighter, this would make a dynamite electric guitar body.

  16. Hej Jesper er så din video med hvordan man skiller paller af her tidligere og da du er fra Danmark er jeg nysgerrig på hvor du får fat i dine paller og om du får dem gratis eller om de koster

  17. Board looks awesome… I see people make these epoxy boards a lot. But, they seem way to labor intensive to charge what you need to charge?

  18. I just found your channel – I can’t recall which video – but have now watched them all. Brilliant! Thank you.

  19. If you were a 12 year old kid I'd congratulate you on 'a good effort.'
As the work of a grown up human being I find it truly risible. There's no discernable talent, or technique on display. Just push it all into a space, fill the limitless gaps with liquid and use heavy machinery to grind it even. Very American, very underwhelming. There are actual craftsmen on YouTube who need to be seen not this toddler stuff!

  20. the result is awesome sir 👋 i’m from indonesia south east asia love your video 👏🏻
