  2. central florida, i am harvesting them now, i remove the red calyx, air dry the pieces. to make the juice, put a couple handfuls of dried into 4 cups cold water, let steep overnite. strain, add sugar to taste. many recipes say boil it, i never do (heat kills vit c). in latin markets the dried calyxes are sold as jamaica flower. make "agua de jamaica".

  6. These leaves r edible. Famous leafy vegetable in south India. U can prepare chutney ,mix with lentils n rice. These leaves r very tangy n tasty.

  7. In Guinea-Bissau we call it Bagite. The flowers, once dried, are used to make a drink. The leaves are used as well. Very healthy source of vitamins.
