In this video, I will show you how to make planters similar to EarthBoxes for less than half the price.

I learned a lot from LDSPrepper’s Videos…. If you haven’t checked his videos out, please do!

  1. I know this video is old but I have a question for you. Once you make the holes and place in the soup container do you just put the soil right in there or do you lie something down first then the soil? Thanks for the great video!

  2. Yep…push it into the wicking basket, soup container or whatever you use for a wick, before you put it in the tote bin.

  3. Hey, this is pretty cool!  How often do you have to fill the reserve on the bottom?  Do you think this would work for potatoes?  I would love to try it- I loooove blue potatoes!

  4. Help, I am trying to make these but I can't figure out how you connected the three containers together.

  5. +JW Pookie I drilled holes in each bottom container. Put Large Grommets in… Then Stuffed Hose thru the grommets … The hose fits tight, so the rubber grommets squeeze the hose enough to make a seal.

  6. porihtaj zadevo mater ti božjo pa ka si ti za enoga duplina .jaz tvoj učenec? pizda pusti Me naj crknem, v življenje itak nebom prišo

  7. Thank you, this is the secret that I have been trying to figure out. We shouldn't use 2 exactly same containers…it should be one slightly bigger than the other. Otherwise, depending on how far up the reservoir container we are doing, there may be space for mosquitoes to go in and lay eggs in the water.

  8. You should be more detailed. Did you use garden cloth? Was the drain hole above or below the level of your garden soil? Do you pack earth in your wick cup? If so, what soil is the best? Compost? Sand? Garden soil? What is your garden soil mix? Inquiring minds want to know.

  9. the idea is good…however at 2020 the prices of the totes are way too expensive to do something like this…well if you have the money go ahead…but it is not cheap
