Hugelkultur beds are a popular permaculture practice of composting in place. Hugelkultur beds are basically wood covered with soil that break down into a juicy rich soil. By utilizing the woody debris that falls on our landscapes we can make mounds of fertility super easy!
Hugelkultur beds are great organic growing beds for all kinds of fruits, nuts, berries, garden vegetables or ornamental landscaping.
All these wonders are well explored in the popular book ‘Edible Landscaping with a Permaculture Twist’ – available in print & kindle – https://amzn.to/3l8LRBP

Yes! I had questions about exactly this, thank you!
Awesome thanks for sharing
I've always wondered if it matters where in relationship to the berm the paw paw is planted? before the the berm (going down hill) is surely going to capture a ton of moisture before it absorbs into the berm, on top of the berm will also be quite moist, and the soil after the berm will also be quite moist due to water infiltration caused by on contour swales. any suggestions from your trial and error on where is ideal?
