The master bedroom suite of this new 12,000 square foot hillside villa overlooking the ocean includes the bedroom with en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet/dressing room. An office and gym are also included in the suite but are not shown here.
This villa has three levels with the entry level in the middle, secondary bedrooms and entertainment rooms on the lowest level and the master suite on the top which is quiet and more isolated from other parts of the house. The higher elevation has the best views or the landscape and ocean beyond.
The bedroom is spacious and uncluttered. Daylight enters the rooms from multiple angles. As is common in our larger villa projects, sunlight is a main feature of the rooms enhanced by a clerestory window frames the spaces with light from above creating dynamic shafts of light at different times of day. Sliding translucent glass screens divide the rooms if needed.
The walk in closet is large and can be made private with an additional set of sliding screen doors. The island cabinet doubles as a table.
In the bathroom the bathtub overlooks the roof garden and ocean beyond in privacy. Double vanities and double showers and a sauna are included.
The outdoor roof garden creates a natural foreground that doubles as a filter to enhance a sense of privacy. Steel framed planters and reflecting pool sit on a striated concrete deck.
The material palette is simple and bright with accent materials such as the floor and some furnishing in oak, the bathroom in white Calacatta marble with chrome accents, and the doors are glass with aluminum frames.
