Frederick Law Olmstead, designer of @centralparknyc along with Calvert Vaux,had also been a sailor, a farmer, a surveyor, and a journalist. Multiple experiences effected his designs- taking food on a cart from his farm on Staten Island into the city on rutted roads impacted the design of the roads in Central Park.
