At 6 am this morning, we go looking for Dolly, our oldest Dexter/ Jersey cow. Her due date to calf was Nov 13th. And right on time, she gave birth during the early morning to a boy. He was already standing very steady when we found them. MR Dexter, dad, and Dolly were taking care of him, keeping him warm and safe. Dexters are very protective.

    Such a sweet baby boy! And it was cold down here this morning ! Our wind chill was 22 degrees above I-10

    I’m trying to get myself set up to get away from goats and get a couple dexter cows next year. It was 29 here this morning with a wind speed of 8mph which put our wind chills down to 10 degrees.

    This is not a good day for us Dani and Wanda we had a beautiful Red Angus calf born in the last week of August, it’s brutally cold here in Missouri
    She passed away at 3:55 pm today 11/13/ 22 my heart is broken she was such a sweet heifer I could pet her hand feed her .
    I don’t know what happened guys she was already pushing 200 lbs , I tried CPR I tried to breath for her through her snout 😢💞 I just couldn’t get her back I failed the little girl, 💔💔💔💔
    Sure could use prayers thank you guys .

    Having exactly on time! Awesome! I love the way all your cows are so protective and social with the new one. Mama wants to be alone to deliver and then everyone comes around. Your right about being in the warm hay. They are not dumb.. they sure know what’s going on.
