I grew up in New Jersey in one of the nicest suburbs in the country (top 100). Never got why my state is so hated upon. We are better than New York in just about every way. What a true shame.
Haters gonna hate. Funny, most people I’ve meet from other states think New Jersey is great! I grew up knowing I could drive 20 minutes in any direction and hit a mall.
Oh, yeah. We are pretty rude. I’ve worked in retail here and in Las Vegas. People here respond to “Welcome to our store!” with, “Just looking!” Usually in a very dismissive manner. At least on the West Coast people will say, “hi.”
I lived in Pennsylvania too and I have never heard Philadelphians talk about New Jersey. They are in a rivalry with New York, at least, in their own minds.
As someone who was born and raised in NJ it's always north jersey oh blah blah blah north jersey new York city haha. I live in Vineland and never been up north once. I don't even know the town's up there and, 90% of the time it's north jersey calling the shots. If NYC and Philli look down on New Jersey then north jersey looks down on south jersey. The Prissy north making fun of the hick south.
Tbh the people whom talk the most shit about Jerz are NYrs. Yet NYrs are fleeing like refugees Into Jerz, causing traffic due to bad driving habits or lack of driving skills and driving up prices on everything.
