Did you water them after the freeze? I dont know if it would work for freeze as well as frost, but watering before thawing can help them thaw without cells bursting & killing plants
Hi Jill, wow it cal cold up north Texas. We covered our garden with row cover just in case. We only got down to 38 a couple hours. Row cover is removed and we are back to growing. Looking forward to the rain and we do need a cold winter. God Bless, Mike & Rochelle
Hi Jill. I'm near you and am growing zucchini & yellow squash for the first time. I was surprised that although we only got to 31 degrees last night, all my squash plants have droopy, frost damaged leaves. Is there anything I should/can do to help them push through. Thanks for any thoughts from you or other gardeners.
Got down to 27 here in East Texas. I covered everything with blue tarp and all survived, even my morning glories. They don’t like the cold at all! My tomatoes are producing like crazy but not turning orange yet. I hope they have enough time to do their thing.
Its suppose to get down to 28 on Wednesday here in Aubrey 🤞 Everything survived that I covered from last nights weather. Even my avocado trees. 😊 My kids planted avocado seeds in 2 of my beds without me knowing. 😅 I had 6 sprout this year, I did go out this morning and dig them up. Boy was the soil cold! I honestly can not wait for spring. I'm already planning and drawing out where I want things.
Glad to hear that your crops are doing well! I put most of my veg under fleece, and everything is looking good, including the bush beans (that were still producing in December last year). My collards, left uncovered, were unaffected by the hard freeze (28 degrees). Is it possible yours just need water? I'm hoping for a milder winter than last; but, in case it isn't, I'm growing lettuce under lights indoors, and planning to start some Toy Choy, also.
That is great that your greenhouses didn't freeze. I have a 2X4 cheap greenhouse, and I was happy that it did indeed keep my plants safe. Enjoy the rest of your day. God bless you!
I,m back. Got me some $5 butter walmart brand. I think i,ll buy some heavy cream and make my own. Thats probably high too. We need a cow. It,s cold here too. In the 30,s this morning. I hope you didn,t lose your beets. That kale looks great. Do you mean that worm made it through that freeze. I,d like to take him fishin. That chicken manure keeps things warm. Love you all!
I had all my tomatoes die out just about. A few made it I covered. But many I picked a few minutes ago. I am hoping the larger ones will turn red that are still green in a week or so . If they're not damaged inside?
I finally hollered calf rope and picked all peppers and green tomatoes before the freeze. Now to figure out what to do with the produce I picked😮. I’ll clean out the dead plants as time permits. I’ll be starting some seed soon for spring.
The green house din'.t freeze. So glad for you all. Everything there is really looking good. Yes it's been a beautiful Sunday. Sun shinning, very little breeze if any here.Funny I noticed several tiny pears on my little tree. Poor things had to deal with 22 last night.God bless you and yours.

I love that shot in the beginning of the video with the fireplace. Cooler weather makes for better sleeping. 😊
We're showing getting to 26 Wed and around 27 through the 19th. I covered all my plants and they did fine. My little babies I brought inside.

Good afternoon.
You had freeze in North Texas? I live in Southern Ontario Canada, in Brantford, and we still have not had frost this year yet
