  1. My Privet Senna is about three feet tall with multiple trunks. It is rather floppy since the trunks are small. Is this just the way it grows? I've staked it but wondered if it should be left shrubby or cut some of the stalks?

  2. Beautiful garden! My Cordyline is looking good as well. I prefer to grow in the shade where the deep maroon coloration comes in. (I actually used to think they were two different types!).

My butterflies left me when Ian came, and are not returning as strong as I'd hoped. I also say hi when they do a flyover! Actually, my milkweed has never.looked better as there's no Monarch pressure right now. My passion vine took a hit and was very shredded but will come back.

Watching and waiting to see the progress on your front plantings. They look great so far!

  3. Soooooo pretty! Drooling….. You are inspiring me to get out there and clean up after Nicole!

Sorry to crossover channels, but, some of WFloridian viewers may find this useful: Urban Harvest is doing a Seeds for Hope project to help restart gardens that have been hit by Ian. Just go to the site and sign up to have seeds and starts sent to you. Happy Growing to All!

  4. I just received 3 of the Vegega Beds…Can’t wait to get them together and get them filled 🫶🏽 Thank You So Much learning a lot from you….❣️

  5. Hurricane Nicole just about destroyed our garden…😔 I've got to find some of those spiral stakes that you have and try to save some plants… do you know what they are called?

  6. A motto I learned decades ago about growing perennials helps me not be impatient with them. It reminds me not to be quick to give up on a plant.
    The first year they sleep
    The second year they creep
    The third year they leap
And I have found that to be true of most perennial plants. It takes about 3 growing seasons for them to truly establish themselves and really flourish. Your front flower bed is going to be wonderful.

  7. It's frustrating when exotic lookalikes are sold as natives. I bought a porterweed from Lowes a few months ago that was labeled as the native but it grows like a shrub not a groundcover so I know it's not the native. It happens all the time with the yellow lantana
