Also here on the west coast (because of gas prices) you have to be very efficient with trips out to the job. Staying late in order to not come back for a few hours the next day is key

2023 we will be entering a recession, with a slow grounding preceeding this year. High tech companies are in the process of mass-lay offs. The Federal Reserve is also in the process of raising interest rates to the goal of 5.5% prime rate to get inflation under control.
You don't want to be heavy in debt during this time. Clients won't be getting 2nd mortgages or equity lines of credit during the next couple years. So the big $100k jobs and larger will be at a minimum.
You'll have to survive doing much smaller jobs for a couple years. With much more competition. Smaller companies will start moving their marketing north. I expanded my marketing to Menlo Park, Los Altos, Redwood City etc. Cities I don't normally service during a normal economy.
All big companies are downsizing to lower overhead during a slower economy.
Be mindful of your debt to profit ratio over the next 2 years.
