I was wondering if you might consider introducing people to philosophy by way of one of Dr. Peter Kreeft's "Socrates Meets …" books? They are great introductions to various philosophical works. Amen, Dinesh! Well said. And your argument in favor of the Minority of One is an implicit advocation against democracy! For democracy favors the majority ("power to the people," a Communist slogan) and the Constitutional Republic favors the smallest minority — the individual! Remember: Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely! This applies equally well to the power of the people through the toxic form of government called "democracy."
Democracy is what led to the atrocities in Ancient Athens. Democracy is what led to the downfall of Rome, voting for benefits from the state which had to be stolen from individuals. Democracy is what makes the United Nations such a toxic body. And democracy is what is ruining science with its anti-science attitude of consensus!
Would we have ever had the 17th Amendment which destroyed state representation in Congress, if people had not already been conditioned to think of toxic "democracy" as something favorable? Would so many, today, be advocating for the elimination of the Electoral College if they understood the toxic nature of democracy? Sharing power with others can be scary! The comfort of the emotional majority can be corrosive and destructive! Imagine my dismay when a majority of people favored torture of people perceived to be enemies of the state (no trial, no jury, but only accusations not yet substantiated).

The beauty of the anti-democratic aspects of our Constitutional Republic is that it balances the power of the individual against the majority, and these against the local, state and federal governments. This is NOT a matter of semantics, but of real concerns which impact our future and the behaviors of individuals, groups and governments.

I read before and during the American civil war. 1st went the Gold then the Silver then the copper coins. Dinesh, I have been thinking about this ever since I watched your video with Hadid on your show. When he said in his country they discuss them and come to a compromise solution and I am 75 and I remember when the two parties use to discuss and come to a compromise decision but were always gentlemen. Me Hadid also says he is scared to death of Trump being re elected. He seemed to not even realize we are scared of what else Biden could have planned for our country. That is a two way street. Like that would be foolish of us.
