You are correct that growing big leaves is not easy. But through your excellent videos I am learning so much. Thank you for giving us all of your knowledge you have gained through the years. I know that making these videos is time consuming. Please know that we all appreciate you very much!
@10:04 you said horizontal instead of vertical, Jan! Lol. Lovely vid as always
I get it… With just the few changes I have picked up from you I see the improvement in growth with my plants. A lot is trial and error because what may work for you may not work for me. It’s good to have a guide but you have to pay attention to your plants, your environment and the care you’re providing.
Thank you so much for this video 💚
You have very happy plants!!! 🥰🪴🌿
Do you fertilize in winter ( dormant season)?
The mature philodendron Atabapoense looks a lot like the thaumatophyllum Stenolobum
I strive to be the plant parent you are! Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and experiences. Always look forward to your videos.
The only thing I've been wondering is how intense your light is. Since Australia is under a hole in the ozone layer that allows more UV to get through, I wonder how or if it affects plant growth- I'm still curious about your light meter reading!
Can I use miracle grow for my plants? (Philodendron melanochrism)
Also does fertilizing weekly mean with almost every watering? Is it ok if the temp& humidity gets a little bit lower at night (4degrees F and 10% humidity fluctuation)?
great video jan, appriciated, all your tips and videos are so useful!
Thank you for doing what you do 🥰♥️
Love this video! An idea 💡 for another one would be showing us your smaller/newer plants you are growing right now too. Would love to see them.
GREEN THUMBS 😂🪴🌱 HARD WORK THAT BECOMES EASIER WITH TIME IT TOOK ME YEARS TO ACCOMPLISH MY 75 PLUS PLANTS 🪴 NOT INCLUDING OUTDOOR PALM TREES 🌴
Thank you Jan! Definitely no secret! Just consistency clear air water and light. Oh, of course! Your babes they’ve extra because magic of patient & musings with the Royal 🐱. I’m in America. & I love the tips you give. And the more scientific/ academic logic to the hobby

GT Foliage Focus is available in the US. I bought it on amazon from a seller located in the US. Just a heads up if you couldn't find it elsewhere.
Growing big leaves is not so easy for me , so much thanks for sharing ur experience
Your grouping of plants for this video was really amazing, and an excellent backdrop for the theme of this video. While there are no tricks for what you've accomplished with your plants, it's a good lesson that with dedication, effort, and time, amazing plants are possible. Your videos keeps me motivated so thank you for taking time to post these.
Regarding moss poles: i normally use worm castings to top dress the soil/medium, can I still do that when using your technique of only watering the moss pole? My worry is that all the roots in the pole won't get any nutrients
woah! Thanks a lot! Greetings from the other side of the globe!
Great video! I used to live in Sydney but returned to Tasmania. I don't think many people realise how benign the conditions are in coastal NSW (bar fire and flooding). I'm happy just to see my plants slowly settle in and grow with leaves achieving their mature form and looking healthy. Size isn't my goal (although I love your leviathans) because it is just too cool down here, so I really try to focus on style and magical combinations. I'd love to see the small plants you speak about and hear about your plans for them.
Excellent video. So well put. I look back just a couple years and how far I have come! I learned by trial and error. I reaserch my plant, find out what it likes and do my best to provide. If people want plants as big as you then they will have to act accordingly. I personally don't have the room! I live vicariously thru you! LOL but I do my best to give what I can to each plant. I have cabinets, grow lights, humidifiers, and heat mats. I let some climb, some don't. I factor in astetics too. I also think we need to remember at what stage you are buying your plant. Is it a seedlimg? Full grown? So anyway, We are our best teachers. Well equal parts maybe of plant videos and just going for it! I certainly love watching your videos and asking for help when I need it. xoxo Thanks for everything btw my Queen has recovered! it WAS water!! so simple.
Ahh, consistently ideal conditions. Living the dream.
Awesome video! 🙌🏻
Do not get discouraged by people who think that’s it easy for you to get your plants looking the way they do, as a plantparent as well, I know that it takes time. Long time! Years! Patience and knowledge is the key!
Plants are a living thing – not every plant wants to mature, but no matter what — it takes time, care and effort. 🌱✨
Loved the honest address at the beginning 👍
Hey Jan – how do you water juvenile plants that haven't yet attached to the moss pole? Do you still only water the moss pole or do you water the pot as well?
Can you give us the timestamp where you share your secret please? ;oP
Jk, great video, as always!!
Because of you, I started moss pole journey. I have monstera deliciosa and epipremnum marble queen.
I appreciate your videos.
Today I wanted to buy another plant but couldn't decide which one, so I just left the store 🤣 there was philodendron imperial red and dieffenbachia.
