Our grandson loves the chickens

  1. I was in Tyler yesterday evening when the sirens came on. Later was just about to Chandler when it rained so hard I had to pull over. Couldn't see the highway. Lots of people stopped.

  2. Just keep that up and they'll come running every time they see you carrying anything. Mine know the Big Red Treat Bucket (old coffee can I throw kitchen scraps in) means something yummy and come as fast as they can. Once they are about 5 months old or so, ready to lay, they'll stop and hunker down when you approach. That makes them easy to pick up. My neighbor kids are endlessly fascinated with feeding and holding the girls.

  3. Sweet! : ) My cousin came to visit our farm when I was a kid. I took her to the barn to show her the new chicks. When the mother hen saw us, she jumped up and I noticed there was a chick stuck to her feathers. Then my cousin said "Oh look, it's nursing." I said, "Chickens don't nurse" and ran over and pulled the chick off. Haha!! It was so funny I never forgot it! Can you picture a chicken nursing with a beak? Still makes me laugh!

  4. Can you turn this into a short as well, because there’s so many people you can reach with this precious moment. Blessings to you and Greg.

  5. Aww…when our chicks were still smaller like that, my daughter spent a lot of time hanging out in the coop. Now there’s no room left for her so we’re getting ready to expand their run.

  6. He almost seems old enough to handle/play-with a protective-rooster(with rounded spurs).

I miss being attacked on the riding mower… but I don't miss learning how razor-blade sharp of a spur-tip those roosters can make.
