Bobby is lucky you came into his life Kaylee. This might be one of the hardest times of your life, but you are changing his life for the better. Never forget that. Whenever you feel lost in all this, remember the changes, patience, care and love you are giving him – to works towards a better life for him, outweigh the bullshit. I've been where you are with an extremely difficult horse: we tried everything, spent tens of thousands.
I know you have experienced people helping you, but if I may… in your shoes, before anyone attempts to rehab your horse, please get a performance work up done at a reputable equine referral clinic. Apologies if you've already done this. If he's deemed physically able to do a job and isn't in pain, I recommend sending him to someone like Michael Peace. He's one of the best in the country. He's honest, kind and will look after him, and you. I don't know if you've completely given up hope of having a relationship with the horse, but Michael would give you the best shot of either achieving that, or moving the horse on.
You will have endless people offering to help you and endless opinions of what you should do. Be very wary.
My horse did not have a happy ending, but I safe guarded his future. He would bolt, I couldn't risk him killing someone or himself. He had been abused, he did have pain from hidden physical problems, but the worst thing, he was mentally ill. Professionals couldn't see it, they all thought he was fixable.
Very best of luck with it all. FWIW I have a connie x tb on retirement livery currently, and he is living his best life. There would be no shame in exploring this and not breaking yourself financially or mentally xx
Look, in Bobby's eyes, you're taking the best care of him you can and he knows. But you've got to take care of yourself first before you can truely take care of something/someone else.
Who cares that legally you're not as equiped as some rich assholes. It's better to have compassion than cash and seems like you've got those priorities fully sorted honey. It's time to allow yourself to move on to more positive and constructive stuff like your home.

Hey so I am not a subscriber, but I know pain when I see it. I can see that youâre at your wits end, but youâre still fighting for the care of this horse. That tells me about your character, that you have a caring heart even when itâs most inconvenient. This shows me that even though you know the horse isnât best with you, you still care about its well-being and allowed to set aside your feelings about the horse to do whatâs right for it.
I havenât followed along your story at all, because I have only been watching your plant videos and most recently as I just got into plants. But, the way you describe the situation 100% sounds like, you were a beginner, everything sounded really good at the beginning, you bought into it not fully understanding, and you got scammed. This horse show signs of abuse, Which I can understand your feelings of wanting to be 100% more certain about what is right for the horse. Itâs not your fault, and itâs not the horses fault. And itâs pretty messed up that youâre going through this. We all go through things sometimes, and you shouldnât have to feel bad for not always being peppy. The clearness of your story shows youâre not lying and the genuine struggle youâre having. What youâre feeling is 100% reasonable, and I hope that youâre taking care of yourself as much as youâre taking care of this horse

I want to address the "giving up' comment. You aren't giving up when you're doing the best not only for the horse, but for yourself. Looking out for your financial, and at this point your mental health is most important. Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness so please don't feel embarrassed for doing so. It takes courage to reach out, and fuck anyone who says otherwise.
For all the content I get from you for free, I'm happy to help even if it is not much. I hope after Bobby found an appropriate home for his needs you'll be able to take care of you, your mental health, your house and to make them pay for scamming you and putting you in that situation if you still have energy and money. oh my god I can't believe people can be so cruel, are you trying to do is help the horse out. I don't get some settlers why do they do this to people. I've worked for horse I've worked with horses for 15 years, and some sellers can be very sneaky. if it was me I would just cut my losses and try and find him a new home. I wish I could give you a hug because you look like you need one, I hope you get everything sorted and that you'll feel better soon. I try to ignore the trolls they're not worth it.

I think you should cut your losses. Name and shame when you can legally do so. But take care of Bobby and make sure he can get the help and life he deserves. Your mental health needs to be a priority now. But whatever you decide you know you have a community here that loves and supports you.
