My fellow Texans keep your eye on the sky today and make your preparation’s for emergency preparedness weather. It may move east into Louisiana and Mississippi. Praying for you all.

  1. Southeast Oklahoma is supposed to be getting the same as east Texas. Next project…check the batteries in and make sure the weather radio is working. Stay safe!

  2. Ask the place you got your chicks from where THEY source theirs? It'll then be easier to tell what exactly you have. Can't be 100% sure until they molt into adult plumage and start laying, since egg color is a great clue. My first guess is you have some hybrid layers (red/gold/amber/cinnamon stars/queens – depending on where they come from is what they are called and the breeds used), leghorn hybrid (the white lightly-built ones – again depends on who bred them on exactly what breeds used), probably some kind of Easter Egger, maybe black Australorp or a black star hybrid, maybe Orpington (buff), maybe Rhode Island Red or White? I see one that looks like it is much younger than the others? Anyway, they all look real healthy and active, pretty flock of a bunch of pretty colors. Good job raising them!
Spent the past few days getting everything buttoned up. The helpful "flash mob" yesterday sure helped a bunch. Just came in from double checking and picking up anything that might blow around. Material for the coop roof came in, but it's not getting put on today! We got a good tarp over the roof decking, so I think it'll be ok for a while. Covered a few plants in case we get hail. Best that we can do.
I hope there are zero tornadoes and hail. Hope everyone stays safe. Keep watching the skies, sweet peeps. Love and hugs.

  3. In my Prayers, keeping my fingers crossed and hope the storm blows over quickly … Be safe! … btw: My oh my, how big the chicks have gotten since your first video of them. 🐤

  4. Praying for everyone here in the path of the storms. I just had some showers and now the sun is coming out which is worrisome. 🙏

  6. All is pretty calm right here in Quitman so far. I hope these things pass over doing no major damage to anything or lives of people taken.

  7. We just got rain last night and will get a few drops in a little while again . I am with you , I don't mind the rain but don't want that wind blowing us to Bermuda. Wishing you well through the storms .

  8. Where do you seek safe shelter when this type of weather blows through? Churches and police stations are pretty good places to go.

  9. This is precisely why I live in the high desert of Texas. Going to say a prayer now. God bless. ❤️

  10. Jill please be careful. Rochelle and I work from home and we've been watching the weather and it's looking scary. Ms. Lippy in north Louisiana are preparing for some nasty weather. You might want to get Pop's in the main house just in case. From Denton to Texarkana the wave will be passing east. Please do a short after the storm passes to let everyone know your good. God Bless, Mike

  11. Did you make it thru the day ok? We had some really hard rain but no damage. Trust you fared well!🥰🙏💖

  12. Hi Jill! We're supposed to be having some pretty windy weather later on around 5:00 p.m. so we'll be on the lookout for that – stay safe!!!
